May i suggest you try these steps,
1. Download the drivers here:http://www.mscustomercare.com/
2. Make sure the device is fully charged and not in charge mode.
3. Unzip and install the drivers with the device connected to your pc.

Make sure you use a controller based modem with Winfax. No soft or win
modems.

USR5686E works great. There is also an internal version. See Modems 101 at
www.usr.com for more info. ver 10 wont work on xp , you need at least ver 10.2 , check their website
for and upgrade .

Hi,

This is a known issue with HP Officejet printers. Installing it back will not resolve the issue. You need to get the driver CD for your computer and install the modem drivers once again for WinFax to recognise the internal modem. Sometimes it also effects the sound. Hope its not the case for you. If yes then donot worry but have the sound drivers installed as well.

This error indicates corruption of data, would I would suggest is to backup your data files immediately, the biggest mistake many do is by copying files while WinFax is open. Make sure WinFax is closed, and the WinFax Service is stopped when you copy or move data around. Its possible that you may have corrupt fax data, you can try rebuilding your logs & databases

You can't, if a fax failed, and you leave it in the log, its listed there as a failure. If you're manually resubmitting the fax, while its in the outbox being re-transmitting or waiting, you can delete the old entry that failed in the send log. http://www.getfaxing.com/forums

Problems receiving could be any number of problems. The first item I would check it to make sure no other devices are on the same line as the fax modem, such as a fax machine. This can cause a problem for a fax modem to receive faxes when another line is being picked up and listened to at the same time.

This is a problem after installing IE 7 or IE 8. I suggest downloading WinFax Tools

Go into Tools, Program Setup, Dialing And Location.
Here you can set all the dialing rules, settings etc.
Make sure your area code, country code, etc. are all entered here.

You probably have a conflict with your INTERNET EXPLORER 7 or 8.
