The program that i am trying to uninstall has an error

You don't want to uninstall that unless you have other virus protection. If you have vista, it won't let you uninstall it without some other form already there

I am unable to run the liveupdate and iam getting lu1815 error me

SYMANTEC NO LONGER SUPPORTS THIS VERSION. YOU WILL NEED TO GET THE LATEST VERSION OR SWITCH TO A FREE PROGRAM. I USE AVAST - WHICH IS FREE - AND JUST AS GOOD AS NORTON. GO TO DOWNLOADS.COM AND SEARCH FOR AVAST.

Norton 360 Download

But first you can try going to internet explorer==tools--internet options and there go to security and privacy and in those 2 options you will find you can disable popup blocker, accept alll cookies, turn security level to low or zero and press apply==ok to lower all security which stops the download.

Having done that, when you click the download button keep the Ctrl key pressed down

Thats the 1st thing to try

If that does not work, May be you have a firewall blocking, you may need to disable windows
firewall, or the existing anti-virus's firewall

Try uninstalling or disabling existing anti virus software
then try to download keeping Ctrl key pressed as you click the download button

If that does not work-it probably will-

Go to "contact us" on the page where you downloaded after purchase, and send message stating
your payment transaction ID, product key, and the exact error you are getting, they will repair it. They do store your product key online, ask them

I hope that was of some help. Get back to me if you have any more questions

I bough the norton 360

Hi! I have previously had problems with AntiVirus (Norton once) being disabled by a virus which made it hard to start it going again. There are a lot of viruses do not show up on Norton,. You should install a spyware catcher such as Spyware Doctor. I have Stopzilla, (anti-spyware) and cannot yet comment about its helpfulness. They are not free but cost a lot less than Norton. A lot of people prefer AVG Grisoft Free as their Antivirus prpgram but we all need an anti spyware program !Because I get mainly spywares, and rarely viruses, I feel that Norton may be getting obsolete and not providing sufficient protection. I call them all, loosely speaking viruses

Your computer has crashed due to what i will call loosely a virus, it could be spyware trojan etc.

CLOSING PROGRAMS IN TASK MANAGER
What I'd do first it to go back to your task manager, and try to end the
processes and programs that you see running.
Can you see on topbar of task manager, there is a choice "programs" and one "processes".
See the running programs and processes, do you recognize any names there?
The virus may be one of the processes running there. Dont end them unless you know
what you are doing
End the programs you see running there. Try to do so slowly.one by one.
Things should get better once you have closed a lot of programs.
Its a very slow process and you need patience

If that does not work, you will need to restore to older settings and your
files and docs stored on hard drive will not get lost

SOFT RESET/SYSTEM RESTORE
You need to do a system restore.
How you do that depends on what make you have such as Dell, advent etc
Maybe you'll need to switch on, and while it is booting, press F12 or F10.
You will to check with the manufacturer how to do system restore. You can
find instruction manuals online etc.
Here your computer goes back to the way it was at a restore point created on a
previous restore date.

HARD RESET/RESTORE TO FACTORY SETTINGS
you probably wont need to do that. Your stored files and programs you have installed
will get wiped out.Unless they are super-important, let them go

Get back to me if you have more difficulties and i hope u found that to be of somehelp

I cannot tell if my

go to your online norton account and check the renewal date.

if the norton tray icon is green, it's active. if red, or black, it may not be. also, when the norton runs out, the windows warning will come up saying the system may not be protected due to no anti-virus.

note: there are many free a/v and anti-spyware programs available so you need not pay for anything. www.downloads.com

Go to http://update.microsoft.com select "custom" and apply ALL the update it offers. Reboot the PC and go there again. keep doing this until it does not offer you any more updates.

go to http://www.spybot.de download and install spy bot. Run it and "fix" (press the fix button) everything it finds. reboot the pc and run it again. keep doing this till you get a clean run.
