Dear Mary
You are running the most hated version of any Windows Operating system.
Windows Vista Home Premium Initial release date was
November 8, 2006. Support for the Operating System ended April 11, 2017.
You are running an antique operating system that is vulnerable to all the new viruses and hacking techniques that are thrown at computers on an almost daily basis.
There is no way to update Chrome, both Google and Microsoft have abandoned you. You will have to stick with what you have until you can update to Windows 11. You have missed Windows 7, 8 and 10, and we are now on 11.
You can go to the Chrome website if you are brave and download the latest version. See what happens, but usually the software moves on and becomes more hungry for computing power and the hardware can't manage it, so it slows down, hangs or crashes.
Get a new and fast web browser. Download Chrome and start browsing.
End of story, you need to upgrade Computer and the Windows OS.
Larry our Computer Guru will be along soon with some words of wisdom. :>D
