Kyocera FS1128MFP AllInOne Laser Printer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How to change waste toner box for fs-1128mfp
There is no waste toner bottle in this model of printer. The waste toner accumulates in container inside Drum Unit. Open front cover. Remove the Developer Unit. Remove Drum Unit and take a look in the back side of it. There are two caps on the left side and right side. Remove the two caps and empty the unit into a safe place according to your local environment rules. As advise, the drum surface get a lighter-red color when it's worn and you have to change it. Probably you'll need to replace the unit when reached at approx.100.000 pages. Sometimes the unit gets deformities because of accumulation of waste toner and you can't solve the problem only emptying the container.

WHERE IS WASTE TONER IN
Inside the drum unit.
To get the drum unit out, you need to first remove the developer unit (which the toner is installed inside) then look inside the printer and put your fingers inside and pull the two green loops out.
Onc you've got it out, look for the side which has a silver sticker on. IF you use a flat headed screwdriver where one of the arrows points to a grey sponge, you will be able to lever off the cap and then empty the waste toner.
This is a mucky job.

How do i connect to the scanner.I have this
It all depends on how your set up is. If you are connected through USB, you will need to download the twain driver from the Kyocera website. Then you can utilize any scanning program that you wish to collect the document image. If you are connected through ethernet, it's a little more complicated. The first choice you need to decide is what you want done with the document image after it has been acquired. There are three main choices: Upload to FTP server, Send to a folder on a computer through SMB, or email. All three of these options are obtained through the Kyocera Command Center software installed on the printer. Point your browser to
http://192.168.2.10/ and you can login. If it asks for password, the unit ships with password "admin00", so that should get you in unless someone changed it. You can adjust the settings through this screen. Head over to the "scan" tab, and you can put in the information for whichever way you want it. If you decide on Email, you will notice at the bottom of the page a link to set up the SMTP options for sending the emails. Another note with email: you will need to set up a DNS server in the TCP/IP section under "Basic" settings. If you don't have a DNS server on your network, you can utilize universal ones. I recommend using Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4)

We can send a fax but can't receive one
Check to see if the phone cord is plugged into the fax machines "line" receptacle. Sometimes fax machines come with 2 receptacles. One is for an external phone and one is for the phone line that connects to your phone system. When in doubt try calling your fax number and see if the fax rings. Good luck

I have a paper jam the printer is calling a "jam
Hi,
Please follow the below mentioned steps to take out the processing unit,
>> Open the front cover
>> Take out the processing unit
Note: Place the process unit on a clean, level surface where it will not be exposed to any sort of impact or shock. The drum in the process unit is sensitive to light and should not be exposed to normal office lighting for more than five minutes. Keep a sheet of paper on it to avoid exposure to light.
>> Check if there is any paper stuck in the machine, if there is any take it out dont apply lot of preasure or the sensors might get damaged. If there is no paper inside, it could be the sensors. Put back the processing unit as mentioned in the next point. Also, take out the paper trays, and slide them back in. Also remove if the tray is holding extra papers.
>> To put the processing unit back, align the pins on both sides of the process unit with the guides inside the machine, and slide the process unit into the machine until it stops.
Regards,
Shrey

Unknown toner installed. PC
There is a little black sticker on the bottom of the toner cartridge about the size of two postage stamps side by side. This sticker identifies the cartridge to the machine. Remove this sticker and the machine will still display the Unknown Toner message for a few seconds but then become operational.

Waste toner box full message
You can solve this by either purchasing a new drum unit DK-130, (£GBP 150, but this should be good for 100,000 prints. Or you can empty it by hand, which is a messy job.
To get the drum unit out, and do this, you need to first remove the developer unit (which the toner is installed inside) then look inside the printer and put your fingers inside and pull the two green loops out.
Once you've got it out, look for the side which has a silver sticker on. IF you use a flat headed screwdriver where one of the arrows points to a grey sponge, you will be able to lever off the cap and then empty the waste toner.
