DR9050C not removing blank pages

The scanner/Computer decides 'Blank pages' as a percentage of area covered. By altering this figure you can select 'Blank pages' based on your paper noise/background. To put it simple, keep percentage low for clean background. S. Mohan, India

Canon DR9050c: Is double-feeding very frequently

Double feeding is very unlikely with a New set of rollers, as they are clean; however if the fine dust from papers stick to it, it can cause slip. The pickup and the feed rollers push the paper towards the scanning module, while the retard roller initially (in the bottom) pushes it outside. Incase there is a second sheet, it will be pushed out and only one page will enter the scan module. Slip can take place if the paper is very smooth or has find dust on it. Stapled papers are held together at the point it was stapled, even after the stapler pin has been removed. Ensure all pages are not sticking to each other. S. Mohan, India

Scanner runs loud not smooth

I have many years experience with Canon scanners and I do have some suggestions for you.

The only time I really experienced a loud scanner in that model was if if the rollers the smaller black ones were not spinning freely causing the paper to drag to the machine. That usually was caused by a gunked up bronze bushing the rollers sit in. When you open up the top half of the scanner by raising it up and with the power to the scanner turned completely off. You should be able to spin the small black rollers freely by hand by just passing your hand over each one. They are mounted on a shaft and and each set of 4 or 5 black rollers are mounted to a single shaft.Try spinning them if they all spin freely then your problem is with the lower rollers.

Again with power completely off try pushing on the black rollers on the bottom by hand. You will feel some resistance with these rollers because there are gears mounted to the end of these shafts and they are belt driven. They wont spin as freely but should spin with some resistance and if it is the problem your having with loudness you should here sort of a metal on metal sound that is telling you one of the bushings is worn out. If you dont hear any sounds then your problem is probably with the main drive motor that propels these rollers. To get at that motor you will need to remove the back cover first and then the right hand side cover because the motor is on the right hand side as you are facing the machine as if you were going to use it. The fix can be as simple as readjusting the tension on the main drive belt by loosing the screws on the main drive motor pulling the motor back until you have more tension on the belt and then tightening the screws back on the motor. Or it can be the motor itself. You will have to remove the screws that hold it in place and then slide remove the belt and slide the motor out towards you. You will recognize this motor because its towards the back of the machine, silver in color, with one small electrical connector mounted to it and its round about 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Once the motor is out try spinning it by hand to see if it is binding. Also once it is out now try spinning the bottom rollers by hand to see if you get a metal on metal sound because they will spin much more freely now. Once you determine which one of the items is causing your loud noise then contact your local canon dealer for the replacement part or you can even try looking on Ebay there are many parts for sale for your scanner its a popular model still today.

I hope this helped you out and if not let me know.

Why when i scan in a batch appears a folder with 4

This file naming is not a problem, this is intended to be that way. By naming this way, the sequence of scanning is maintained, else the page order will be changed while converting to say, PDF.
Suppose you have 11 pages each numbered 1, 2.....9, 10, 11 etc, when you convert to PDF, the sequence will be 1, 11, 2,3,4, thus the sequence is altered. If the sequence is abcd0001 to abcd0011, after converting to PDF, the SAME sequence will be maintained.

Hi, i have a Canon dr 9050c scanner. I have the

It sounds like you diagnosed it. The tray "paper detect sensor" thinks it has paper in it, and if it doesn't have paper in it...there's a problem with the sensor. Take the tray off and inspect the sensor. Blow out around the sensor and it's PCB and make sure it is not out of position. Check the sensor lens for anything blocking it, and retest. If it still shows always on, then replace the sensor. Press the "count only" button to illuminate it, and press the "start" button. If the scanner works properly (tray lifts, pulls paper through the scanner, and counts it)...well then you have software or connectivity issue. Does error P07 on a Canon DR-G1100 indicate that there is a paper jam or that a counter needs to be reset?

P007 indicates that a document has jammed before exiting the registration post sensor. Make sure the path is clear and no staples are stuck in the rollers. I like to use a microfiber cloth, with a small amount of 50/50 alcohol on it, to wipe down the entire feed path; top and bottom. The microfiber cloth will grab staples that may be wedged between the rollers/roller openings. Beyond that, it could be a timing issue from a bad/loose drive belt. Actually, there are quite a few things that could cause a paper jam before exiting the post registration sensor. Wipe it down and let me know. Scan-R-Store

Hello, i have a Problem with my Canon dr 9050c. If

There are a set of gears that convert motor rotation into lifting of the tray. Check if the gears are aligned properly. Any stapler pin jammed inside can stop the gear, while the motor pushes it forward. This will create noise. Very unlikely that these motors fail. Also clean the paper sensor in the tray. S.
