Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Tv have a problems known as a convergence picture problems,it is dead.Tv have R,G,B colors lines mis alignments,have colors pictures shadows or 3D pictures look alike?Yes,than the tv convergence board have dead parts like 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.These parts on the tv convergence board must have be replaced to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

The short answer is yes! when electronics take on water the results in most cases are not good, the ic pins start to corrode working it's way into the casing making it useless over time. If you want to attempt a repair, remove the batteries and any screw, next wedge a fine blade screwdriver to unclip the case, take out the rubber pad and wash with rubbing alcohol, then get an old toothbrush dip in alcohol brush over circuit board a few times and allow it to dry before putting it back together.

projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both.

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Do the self check this model has.

When you turn it on and green power light goes out:

on front of set press and hold both the menu and input (or device) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

The power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

When the power light comes on and then goes out, on the front of the set press both the MENU and INPUT buttons at the same time and hold them both in for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.

The power light will blink a 2 digit error code and repeat it at least 5 times.

The most common error will be 2 blinks, 2 blinks- a pause and then it will repeat it for a total of at least 5 times.

To get it to repeat this--you have to unplug the set, try to turn it on again and repeat the process.

The error codes are to try to narrow down where the problem is.

Does the power light on the front of the set come on for a moment and go off?

The set has one regular fuse at the power cord and several soldered in pico fuses that protect it.

If power light comes on for a few seconds and goes off--do the self check this set has:

When power light goes off press and hold both the Menu and Input buttons on the front of the set at the same time for at least 5 seconds and release---power light will blink a two digit error code--

The most common is 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks; set will repeat this at least 5 times and to get it to repeat it you have to unplug set and try to turn on again.

error 22 says SHORT PROTECT CIRCUIT in the service manual, it has all the wiring and board diagrams as well as replaceable parts and part numbers
