Can not trun on tv

Hello
From your brief description, it seems to be the fault with its front panel power ON/OFF switch itsef. It is a common fault to most of the TVs that the contact inside the switch gets worn out during long run, as at these junction inside the switch, spark will occur during each ON/OFF. Se can't see this spark, as this contact is inside the switch. This is a double pole double throw type, and can be get from most of the electronics components spare parts shops. you yoursef can do it at home, as this is not a skilled work. Open your TV, locate the ON/OFF switch, cut the wires connected to it keeping some convenient length so that you can identify the connections by the wires' colour, when you refit it. The switches are of many types in both diamensions and quality, choose the right one. Keep the switch of your tv in hand as sample. Take an exact replacement with same diamensions. Wish you Good Luck. OK.

Tv turns off by itself

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

How do I tape onto a vhs from analog tv with

There are 2 options-
Option 1
Connect the coax cables in the following order.
1 From the wall to the input of the converter box.
2. From the output of the converter box to the input of the VCR.
3. From the VCR to the TV input.

Here is how you record with this option.
1. Tune the converter box to the channel you wish to record.
2. Turn the channel on the VCR to channel 3 or program the VCR to record channel 3 this will record whatever channel you have your converter box set to at the time of the recording.

Option 2- (will not work on satellite)
1. From the wall to a 2 way splitter (made for digital cable. General rule of thumb with digital cable is gold does not usually mean good.)
2. One output from the splitter to the converter box and the other to the input of the VCR.
3. Connect an Audio Video (RCA (yellow/red/white cable)) from the VCR to the TV input.
4. Select the appropriate input on the TV for the VCR.

Here is how you record with option-
Tune the VCR to the channel you wish to record and push the record button or program the timer to record the channel and time that you wish.
Note- with this option you will only be able to record channels that you would receive without the converter box. Also each time that you split the cable line you loose part of your incoming signal and depending on how you house is set up this option could affect the quality of your digital signals on the converter box.

Cannot connect to cable tv

Yes, connect cable to Ant A and ensure the TV is on the input for Ant A.

Then go into the setup menu and ensure that the Input is set to Cable not Antenna.

Next, choose the auto program option to load your channels.

If you still don't get a picture and you have a small tv to bring to this outlet try this and make sure you are able to get a picture.

If you still can not get a picture then the outlet is not active and you need to call your service provider and ask them to activate the outlet for you.
