Hello.I just got finished replacing the 8 caps

That cap doesnt usualy fail on the power board chances are you got major capacitors that have failed throughout the chassis. As the known caps that fail on the power board are two 2200UF 35V, Two 3300UF 16V and four 1000UF 16V. I would check the other boards chances are you will find numerous others that are swelled up and or leaking

Lamp went out on Mitsubishi

Hi,
Please recheck that lamp is installed correctly in its box and make sure that lamp cover is fixed securely in its position as this engages a safety switch inside.
If TV still shows same problem then it would be ballast supply failure that drives lamp to produce light.
Was old lamp broken when you took it out?
Thanks.

New lamp was added then the green timmer led would

Hello:

You should start with the power supply, the capacitors he replaced the 3300uf 16 volt caps are satifactory, the voltage on them can be higher as long as the value of the caps are the same. This unit may have a bad System control board in it also. Recheck the power supply and make sure you have 5v standby voltage, this is a good place to start as no standby voltage to micro the unit will do nothing. Make sure none of the tracings on the board are broken or loose in the area he replaced the capacitors. If the set was at least working with timmer led flashing only, then i would start there. Sometimes retracing your steps you find something not right. Make sure you have Raw B+ voltage at the Large Capacitors, and to the switching transformer.

What repair is needed for blinking green light and

These sets had a lot of problems like yours---for a while lots of them had 3 different boards with caps going bad etc---a real nightmare---fix one board and a few months later another goes out.

I was at a local Mitsubishi authorized repair center recently---Because of all the problems there is now available an ENTIRE CHASSIS exchange for most of these sets---it wholesales for about 200---a third of what it will cost you to have a shop fix all three of the suspect boards.

This is from what I was told a response by Mitsubishi from the THOUSANDS OF ANGRY PEOPLE WHO PAID A LOT OF MONEY--and 3 or 4 years later the sets are dropping like flies.

If this information has helped you, rate this solution as I do this here for FREE.

Unit makes loud grinding sound, no picture or

If you hear a grinding noise and the lamp will not fire, you may have a bad color wheel. The grinding noise is caused by the bearing going out in the color wheel motor.
You should be able to get a local service center to repair this at your house for between $350.00 - $450.00, If you want to repair this set yourself, be very careful because you will have to pull the light engine out of the set and there are numerous connections that will have to be reconnected when you reassemble it.
If you want to replace it yourself you can go to www.shopjimy.com
They are currently out of stock on the item and I could not get a price, but , the part number is17S5593020
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.
If you need further assistance please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.
