Power light goes out after one second and nothing

first to do is open the projector to see the board or the chassis then check some leak capacitor/bulging top if any...when you found change with the same value of capacitor voltage/micro-farad.when the replacement is done try to power it again when the problem is still there try to replace regulator then power it again when the light goes out again try to replace horizontal output near the fly back transformer then repeat the procedure by power it again if the problem is the same..the last is try to replace the convergence ic which is the value is starts with STK example STK6651...reminders be careful to re-solder parts to avoid short circuit..

Beat the front and sides with sledge hammer and you will need to open up back and place 1/4 stick dyno-mite and secure to lamps with duct tape and cut her loose. I'm sure this will cure any and all of the problems.

These parts are often expensive both for the part and for shipping. In the past, I have been succesful at locating a mirror at a local glass company. If you can remove the current one, bring it to the glass company and they can custom cut a replacement for you. If the mirror is completely shattered, there should still be the frame that can be used as a cutting guide.
Try that.

We moved our Mitsubishi ws-65809

Hi,

First of all i would like to inform you that without the main board, there is nothing you could do other than selling the TV for parts on ebay / craiglist/ local repair shop or junkyard.Even if you might have a faulty mainboard, there are companies who could repair or rebuilt the board. As he ran away with the board, below are the possibilities :-

1. I have already check major vendors as well as ebay for the part. The part is no longer available with them. You could contact any of the local TV repair shops and see, if they have the main board from the old stock.

2. Called Mitsubishi directly for repair. There are occasions when they have few items in the stock or might be a substitute. You could contact :-

Mitsubishi Parts Department
(800) 553-7278
Hours: M-F from 9 AM to 6 PM Eastern time.

or contact their local service for repair :-

http://direct.where2getit.com/cwc/apps/w2gi.php?template=search_new&client=mitsuservicer#?mid=174138

NOTE - SOMETIMES, IF THEY REPAIR THE TV THEMSELVES, THEY COULD ARRANGE THE PART FOR YOU.

3. Look for ebay or craiglist or junkyard for a broken TV ( which people put it for sale ) and swap the part.As of now, it is not available, however you could keep on checking and see, if it might be there in the next few weeks ( wait and watch option ).

Unfortunately, these are the only options you have.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Tv keeps shutting off.

I need to assume you are a DIY and have some electrical experience. If you aren't comfortable taking apart on of these TV's then you should call an expert. If you are comfortable, then read on.

It has been my experience with older rear projectors that the solder joints on the main board become cracked over time. If you have a set that shuts down after warming up, you might be able to check the board for bad joints.

Always be careful when working on these old beasts. I would always unplug them and let them sit over night to discharge a bit before opening them up. The picture tubes still hold a charge so be careful.

Cold solder joints or cracked ones can be seen with really good lighting. Look for a half moon shape on the solder joint, epically on the large transistors near the heat sinks. Be careful not to cause solder bridges when you are touching up the solder joints.

Hope this helps.

Unable to turn on internal

This set does have a hard reset which is done with the original Mitsubishi remote, confirm actual model number and I will tell you how to do it.

It will return the set to the condition it was when new in the box, all labels on inputs will be gone, set should then come on channel three in AIR band; YOU HAVE TO AUTOPROGRAM it and put into cable band if using that.

Let me know model number.

I moved last night and when I try to turn the TV

Hey there! It seems that your board circuit which brings electricity to the LCD or the Screen is dead. It could be the slight disconnection of the circuit located in the board. I had the same problem about 2-3 weeks ago and it was just that.
You turn it on, the little light blinks, but its all dead. It costed me around $100 to fix it up.

My Mitsubishi Diamond 55 inch tv just went black

lindapuzino0,

I have relatively bad news for you. Your model has known issues witht the DM board and power supply board. Mitsubishi has no spares and their repair incentive has ended. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r7065906-mitsubishi_turn_flashing_power_timer which explains the problem and where to get a kit which could possibly repair your unit if you think you have the technical skills.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Please consider a testimonial. Thank you.

Then plug it back up, wait serveral min again and the green light should stop blinking. Then turn it on.
