Supported memory cards do not appear to be more than SD. To get above 2GB the supported memory card type should include SDHC.

An older camera, the DiMage A1 came with a 16mb card. Some cameras are picky about which cards work best. Compact Flash cards are sold in different speeds and your camera may work faster with a faster card. This camera can use Compact Flash type I or type II, and is compatible with the microdrive card. Since this camera was introduced the capacities of Compact Flash cards have increased dramatically so I believe you should be able to use a larger card with no problems but I would check out some of the online photography sites to read about other's experiences. You cannot find the age of Minolta lenses by the serial number, Minolta didn't use serial numbers like that. Some lenses have (c) xxxx for the year the type were first manufactured but that means the range, not that lens. This site has the different versions of the range. That depends on how old the old stuff is. If the lenses have the ancient Minolta SR mount then you're pretty much out of luck (or you can continue using them with your old camera). If the lenses have the Minolta A-mount then they will mount on the Sony alpha-series digital SLRs.
