I have a technics amplifier SU G75

I have a technics too, and faced the same problem. The solution is very simple just ensure the +ve and -ve wires are connected correctly for each speaker to the amp. Eg. red wire to the red knob and black wire to the black on both ends. sometimes this arises because the wires are of just one color however there will be some marking on the wire to indicate which is +ve and -ve. This took care of the overload problem.

Technics SA-AX530 all modes not working - no sound

Not a good sign. There should be a click a few seconds after you turn on the unit. That says the output section is OK. If there is no click, you need repair. Perhaps only some fuses inside, but it could be worse. Also make sure that the speaker switch is in the right position, like A, not A+B. Also the headphone jack can silence the speaker. Make sure that ALL switches are in the right position.

Only connect audio...you do not have a video option available with this unit but the optimal connection is always audio only between TV-receiver.Connect any RCA cable jack of your choice from the audio out connection on the TV it may be labeled as "variable audio out" or simply "audio out" into the audio left and right channels of the TV section of your receiver. Be sure the channel connections between the receiver and TV match up and power it all on, connecting is finished.

Can I use any cable

That would depend entirely on your unidentified subwoofer and what IT needs. The Receiver puts out a usable Subwoofer feed on an RCA jack. That would suggest an RCA Cable, huh?

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts and overloads by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced hands-on tech.

How to connect subwoofer

This manual discusses it somewhat.

http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SAAX730.PDF

Basically, feed the self-powered (active) subwoofer from the Subwoofer Out. There does not seem to be a way to adjust the subwoofer output to match the rest of the speakers because the sub out is muted during the adjustment procedure.

Another way would be to refer to page 15. The note at the bottom right suggests your subwoofer might accept full range speaker level inputs. Refer to the manual for your sub. I believe they mis-printed it and meant "active" subwoofer, as simply wiring a passive (unpowered) sub across the front speaker outputs might cause some amplifier overload issues and you would have no way of balancing it anyway.

My receiver says power overload and then tells me

check your speaker connections, or unplug all your speakers and verify the problem still happens. If so it is an internal problem and most likely not worth getting repaired.
Thank you,

I have a sony LBT - LX 10AV and a Sony LBT ZX 10D,

Hello, if you have the manuals, go to page 54 or at this site http://www.docs.sony.com/release/LBTLX9AV.PDF if not try resetting them, for the 10av. It says to unplug it, plug it back in(I'd wait like 10 secs), then press clock set-enter-on/off at the same time. Keep in mind when you reset you will lose all saved information.
Ok, This is all I found so far. I would try the reset instructions on both units. I can't find the manual for the ZX 10D.
