How do I unblock k9 web protectio w/ password

http://www1.k9webprotection.com/ Are you an adult or the younger person that this was installed to protect? If you are the adult then the above website should have all the information you need to correctly set it up so you can use the web browser. It is very possible that your trying to get into an adult website or some other "offlimits" website which is why you are being kept out of it. One common error in a house hold is to use a single logon account for everyone. If you do that, then the software can't tell when you have a kid on there and when you have an adult.

HOW TO DELETE K9

Make sure you are connected to the internet before uninstalling K9 so your license is properly released. If this is not possible, you can continue to uninstall, but you will need to request a new K9 license if you choose to reinstall K9 in the future. Also, please make sure you are logged into your Windows Administrator user profile. Attempting to uninstall K9 from any other user profile than "Administrator" will not work.
  1. Click [Start].
  2. Click [Control Panel] (Note: if you cannot see this option, it may be under[Settings]).
  3. Open [Programs and Features] (Note: This will be called [Add/Remove Programs] in Windows XP).
  4. Locate Blue Coat K9 Web Protection in the list of programs and click once to highlight it.
  5. Click [Change/Remove].
  6. Click [Yes] when you are asked whether you want to completely remove K9. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UNINSTALL K9 WITHOUT A PASSWORD. By design, K9 will block all internet access should one attempt to uninstall K9 without using a password. Attempts to modify K9 at the registry level will have the same effect.
  7. Enter your K9 Administration password and click [Uninstall]. If you forgot your password, click the "Forgot Password..." link to have a temporary password emailed to the email address on file.
  8. When prompted to reboot your computer, click [Yes].
After rebooting your computer, K9 will be completely uninstalled.

If i restart the whole sysytem on my laptop will k9 send a message to the parent saying it has been uninstalled

Another soultion to Your problem mite be to go thru Windows Explorer and goto your Hard Drive and click on Program files then go down to the Directory that k9 is Installed in and click on it. then Press the Delete Key on the Keyboard or right Click on it and select Delete. Either way if it Deletes the Directory that the Program is stored in. It will not be able to Run. As the Program files will not be able to Be found by the System and usually when You delete something it will not Send out an E-mail to Anyone that it has been Deleted. I have done this before with Programs that i have not been able to uninstall any other Way.One word of Caution all thoe. Be care full what You are Deleting because if You Delete the wrong files by Actadent like files that Windows needs to Run. It will Crash out your whole Entire system.
