Tip

Excel- Unhide All Sheets

Advanced Hide Options

When we hide worksheets using, still user can right click on tabs and un-hide the worksheets. For example, following example will hide the worksheet and user can un hide the sheets on right click on sheet tabs:
Sub sbHideSheet() Sheets("SheetName").Visible = False 'OR Sheets("SheetName").Visible = xlSheetHidden End Sub What if you do not want to permit users to un-hide worksheet, you can set the Visible property of worksheet to xlSheetVeryHidden and lock the VBA code. so that user can not un-hide the worksheet. The below example will hide the sheet and user can not see it in un hide worksheet dialog list.
Sub sbVeryHiddenSheet()
Sheets("SheetName").Visible = xlSheetVeryHidden
End Sub

If you're using MS Excel it's easy, go to cell A1 and hit "Ctrl" and "C" to copy the cell, then go to cell A22 in sheet three, type in the "=" sign and paste ("Ctrl" and "v" at the same time) the info into the cell. It should look like: =Sheet1!A1

This is a PC answer, not an Apple answer, but in theory it should work for Apple too.

I assume you're talking "data" formats? If so, that's so you can put whatever kind of data you want in each column of cells. One column can be numbers, another can be time, etc.

You have to decide how you want it set up. I suggest you figure out what you want the data to look like on paper first...making a mock up. That way you're not starting it in Excel, then doing it over and over and over again.

Easier to experiment with what you want on paper....then do it in Excel.

Without seeing the file, it is difficult to diagnose what is going on, but I will offer some ideas.

What version of Excel are you using? Are you using Excel 2003? Was the file you are trying to open created in Excel 2007 or Excel 2010. If so, it might be using the new format and therefore will not open in Excel 2003 and older.

It is possible the Excel file is data that was imported from a source in which Excel cannot import. Does the Excel spreadsheet contain any imported data?
Try to use: XLSX Viewer Tool here : http://www.xlsx.viewertool.com/
Those are the most likely causes of the corrupt data. Is every file you open in Excel corrupt, or just this one workbook? If it is just this one workbook, then, yes, it sounds like it is corrupted. If every file you open with Excel is corrupt, then your version of Excel could be corrupt, but that is unlikely.

I was like that when the problem exists when double-clicking in Windows Explorer. Then I get the message that the program isn't responding and have the option to close or wait. After a few moments Excel does eventually open and I can work on the file. I do not have the problem when I open the file directly form Excel.

There are 2 types of direct cell references that you can use when you're writing formulas: Relative References & Absolute References.
A Relative Reference is the address of a cell (e.g. A5). When a Relative Reference in a formula is copied from one cell to another, the Reference gets changed automatically. e.g. If you put a formula in cell c5 as A5+1, when you copy this from c5 to c6 the formula A5+1 will automatically change to A6+1.
An Absolute Cell Reference does not change when its copied to another location. As in the example above if the formula in cell C5 is written as $A$5+1, if you copy this formula from C5 to C6 it will remain as $A$5+1 (NOT change to $A$6+1.
The $ sign signifies Absolute, and can be applied to the Row reference, the Column reference, or both Column & Row (as in the example).

If you have a number in Cell A2 (say 100), and you put the amount of percentage increase or decrease in Cell A3 (say -10%), then put this formula into Cell A4 to calculate the answer:
=A2*(1+A3) , which then shows as the answer (90).
