I am recieving machine failure on kyocera 4200 dn

The most common machine failure codes is CF---. For example CF248, CF000. In the most cases the printer is need to be upgraded to the latest firmware.

I cannot get the cassette tray 1 to change from legal to letter sized paper. When I use the command centre, there is no drop down available to change it.

make sure your cassette paper guides are snug to paper or push the system/counter button look under common settings and change the size to letter

Kyocera FS 5100. When printing it is not printing all the lines it seems to eith skip the line completely or prints part of it.

in the user book the trouble shooting section
just about every fault shown says call service
hand book ..68 pages
trouble shooting starts at 47

Call service

You may have gotten an incorrect message and removing and replacing the drum is a step in right direction. But if you continue to get the same message I am afraid you will have to replace the drum - they do wear out.
