Vizio 50inch tv flashes red and blue
Don't waste your money. Its not a good TV to fix. Vizio uses the cheapest parts in the industry. Its probably not your mainboard but the panel itself. Not cost effective. If you can help it try not to buy Vizio. I wont even take them in to fix at my shop they are so bad to repair. you fix one thing and another breaks immediately. I'm sorry to give this as advice but I would hate for you to waste money.
Vizio 47" 1080p PLasma Screen TV Blinks
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

Pink Screen on Vizio 37 inch with HDMI Connection
Hi,
I work as a contract technician for Vizio, and I can tell you from experience that replacing motherboard is one of the only solutions to this problem. The other solution if under warranty is to replace it. If you experience red, blue, or green pixels where dark shades (like nose, eyes, clothes, etc), call Vizio and accept nothing less than a full replacement! I have had situations where I replaced motherboard and within 2-3 hours the pixels return. Hope this helps.

No color,,checked all settings , all I have is black and white
Try viewing a source such as your cable box or computer on your TV. With this source playing, open the TV menu option. If the TV menu is also in black and white then there are a few components inside a plasma TV that can be causing your problem. If the menu appears in color but the video source your watching is in black and white the problem is probably with the source, such as your cable box or computer, rather than your TV. If the video and menu are in pure grayscale and the image is still clear the problem is likely the main board.
Have vizio vp50 part#1014350022 went to turn it on and nothing no lite sound or anything.Tried the reset nothing any ideas. thank you
The first thing to check is if your power outlets have surge protector breakers. Try plugging in another simple appliance like a lamp into the outlet and make sure the outlet has power.
If the outlet is fine try plugging in the TV and listening very carefully from the back of the TV for a subtle click noise. The power supply has a mechanical relay that switches when the TV receives power. If you can not hear the click and there are no stand by or power lights illuminated then you likely have a power supply problem. This could range from a blown fuse to a bad capacitor up to a burnt out power regulator. Anything more serious than those problems may warrant simply replacing the whole power supply. Depending on your TV that board could cost anywhere from $50-$175. The power supply can be tested using a multimeter to determine if it is the source of the problem but this should not be attempted unless you have some electroics repair training and are aware of the dangers involved in working on high voltage electronics.

ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves
checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.Answers to issues:1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.
Vizio p50hdm red flashing pixels
Try to adjust the Vs voltage on the power supply by lower it a little bit or increase it a little bit. It will help to decrease the red pixel flashing.

The z-sustain board is bad. One of the the heat sinks on the board is cool to the touch. These had LG circuit boards and the number on the sticker, on the board, was a good LG part number. The part numbers were 6871QZH044A.
Do a search on the internet with Google, Yahoo, or Ebay with this part number. The board unplugs and the new one plugs back up. Not an advanced technical repair. Unplug the set and take the back off and match the picture on Ebay with the one in your set. And especially match the part numer.
My vizio has vertical lines across the tv, lost my
Contact the manufacturer and they should be able to determine the date the tv was made using the serial number, or you can try getting a copy of a receipt from the retailer, as well if you have your warranty card it may have the date of purchase and could help in getting it repaired under warranty. I hope this helps, Good Luck.

50 in vizio only green
Hi,
You need to unplug the unit for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it ON. If the problem persists, it would confirm an internal failure. There are a couple of different things that could cause this problem,
the first is the power supply, and the second the main board. Also
either sustain or scan driver board can cause this problem. To know
exactly what board is the cause, you need to have electronic repair
experience, and test equipment. If you have this let me know and I will
assist you in the troubleshooting of this tv. Otherwise you will need a
repairman at this point. You can expect a bill of anywhere between
$400-$700, this is a good average, however it could be more or less.
I
am sorry I don't have a quick fix or easy answer for you on this one,
please let me know if you have the skills and tools and I will be happy
to assist you. Also please let me know if there is anything else I can
do for you.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
On a Vizio P50HDM, I
what you will want to do is go into the users guide and find the reset factory defaults option usually it involves holding a button or two while starting the device however are sometimes very different this will ensure any issue is not software or programming related may save you some time
hope this helps

Hello. have just experienced the Vizio Pop Of
Replace the Z Sustainer Board, Part # 6871QZH044B and replace the Y Sustainter Board, Part # 6871QYH039B at the same time. If you replace one and not the other the bad one will end up shorting the good one and you’ll lose your picture within a week. You can do this work yourself by unplugging the unit and placing it face down on carpet (put down a soft blanket to protect the screen) and unscrewing the back of the unit (a power screw driver works great for this job because there are a few screws involved). The cheapest place to buy these two parts are: www.discount-merchant.com , orwww.avextra.net, or www.ebay.com
There are two additional Y Sustainer supporting Boards called the Upper and Lower Y Boards in the P50HDM that can also be replaced at the time of the Z and Y Replacement. There part numbers are: 6871QDH088A and 6871QDH089A. Although some techies prefer to replace them at the same time as the main Z & Y Boards they probably weren’t the cause of the problem and most likely don’t need to be replaced. However, if you decide to replace them along with the Z & Y then it’s additional insurance that it won’t happen again, plus these boards are actually pretty cheap unlike the Z and Y which are a bit more expensive. It’s also popular to add two additional CPU fans to the unit for additional cooling. Apparently the POD (Pop of Death) has something to do with the main Z and Y overheating. To add additional CPU Fans, which are also pretty cheap, you’ll need a 3 Pin Y-Splitter (M-F) and a 4 Pin Y-Splitter (M-F) for extra plugs to connect to the additional fans but be sure to purchase a super quiet fans since the additional fans will be running along with the two 5 inch super quiet fans that came with the unit.

Hello i have a p50hdm and just finished replacing
Adj the VS and VA voltages to he se on the back of the panel. There are a couple controls tward the botton of these boards . You can play with these to minimise the red dots. Also the VS and VA voltages can be lowered slightly . this may help.
I have a 42
If its a plasma tv there's not light behind the display panel, I was a bit confused when I read that....LOL Light behind the tv will only happen if its an LCD tv because it uses CCFL's to illuminate the LCD panel. Plasma displays generate their own light from the plasma pixels.
Anyway,
If its an LCD tv then either the inverter, power, or time control circuits need to be serviced or replaced. If its a plasma tv then your X or Y sustain, or power circuits need to be serviced or replaced. The interface can cause a similar problem also but only with plasma tv.....
I have the same exact problem,
Can't tell you more than it is probably capacitors. Incorrect electricity flow will not allow the relays and circuits to function properly.
If you are qualified, you can replace the caps with better ones of the same rating. Rarely, but sometimes, you can identify a bad capacitor by it bulging out at the end, or at the base if its expanding or leaking fluid etc.
Contrary to what the companies will tell you, 99.9%+ of the time, you can not tell visually. Most likely the bad caps will be closest to any hot spots on the board, like near the heatsinks or resistors (often you can see dark spots on the board from the hot situations).
If you fix yours this way, then you know to search for another like yours, broken, and get it cheap to fix ;)
