I receive malfunction error code cof32
John,
Need to replace the developer and the drum. Ensure that the counters for the developer and drum are cleared first (in service mode) before pulling the image unit out (Right side of machine) then take the image unit a part replace the developer, cleaning blade and drum. DO NOT USE A VACUUM Cleaner to remove the developer, because static electricty from the Vacuum cleaner can destroy the sensor located below the image unit, which is what is giving you the code. but you should change the developer and drum first. After that you run the F 8 procedure in service mode. Ensure the FAX and printer cables are removed do not want a Print job or fax to come in before running the F 8 or you will start over with a new developer. If you think you can do all this GO for it, if not get a tech out to do it.
AND NO JUST RESETTING THE COUNTERS WILL NOT WORK!!!! The machine use the counters to determine the correct voltages to certain assemblies. If you reset the counters that tell the copier parts are new when in fact they are old and you get codes and image issues. Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at

Does the control panel say replace PC drum? Then replace the drum and developer both are replaced at the same time. If that does not work replace the ATDC sensor located under the image unit. has multi color ribbon cable. If not that then the main control board if you can find one. Best bet would be replace the developer and ensure you clear the counter for develop and run the F8 process after replacing the developer. DO NOT USE A VACCUM CLEANER to replace the developer because the static electricity from the vacuum cleaner can destroy the sensor. Also the copier uses the counters to adjust voltages for certain assy. so if you replace the developer and don't clear the counters then the machine will adjust voltages for a used drum or developer when in reality the developer or the drum are new. Power outage and now I get an error code C0500.
First open the right side cover where the image unit is located. Check the two latches that latch the door ensure they are not broken, especially the rear one. Then get a paper clip and stick the clip in the small hole on the right side of the control panel it will touch a switch. The control panel will go thru some screens when you see the screen with the copiers on it on the left side of the screen in the middle you will see a small "." When the dot appears touch 3 button. Then the machine will continue to the code screen. Press the Utility button you should see a new button "Maintenance Mode" touch it then touch trouble reset. The machine will again go thru screens will see the"." again do nothing. Should go ready to Copy. If the code comes back do not reset you are messing with the Fuser the Hot part. Continuing to reset without a technician looking at and or replacing it, the fuser can catch on fire and that would ruin a perfectly good day.

Did someone leave a trash can or boxes under the output trays? To solve this problem requires removal of the rear cover of the finisher. Then remove the elevation drive motor assemble. Be careful don't want the output trays to fall!!!!!! Then while placing them in their proper position re seat the drive assy. The top tray should be just below the orange rollers (If they are cleaned) you will see several actuators the top tray has to just touch them. Recommended a tech do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! C0500 mean the fuser the hot part is not getting the 117VAC power to the lamp inside the upper fusing roller. people sometime get frustrated and slam the right side breaking one or both of those latches prevent the door to push a accurator into the machine to depress a switch to supply power to the fuser lamp

The machine i have is
Was the developer also changed? Because who ever change the drum did it wrong. The first thing you do before you remove the old drum is cleared the drum counter, seems that was not done now the copier thinks the new drum is old and is applying the required voltages for a old drum even though the drum is new will have image problems and codes soon. Recommend you get a new drum, cleaning blade, and developer and replace them all their are normally done at the same time, because in a few week the developer will the go and so drum unit will show up a again. make sure you clear the counters first then install the parts and make sure you run the required F8 in service mode. Utility/Counter, Details then. stop00 stop01 for service mode. Under Function for F8 and counter for clearing developer drum image section which should be done after every forth drum the developer unit that hoses the drum and developer.
