It sounds like a faulty component which when warm after a while corrects itself or changes its value, what that could be I do not know, but it would need a engineer to look at it (if left may cause more problems) On a simpler side you could try turning each control knob end to end, many bits of equipment that have rotary or slide controls stay in one place, this allows grime to build up around it (thats in the air) after a while they become poor contacts. So by twisting or sliding a control or switch they "self clean" do not be afraid if done while on at first, and this makes a racket this will help you identify its bad ones to give more attention to when you turn off to continue, jack sockets and plugs also tarnish, a finger moist with switch cleaner spray wiped on a plugs contacts then inserted into a socket a few times cleans them (avoid spraying into a socket as most 6.3mm sockets they have no end stop so that fluid just sprays its amps inside parts) WD40 will do. There is Not any copies of the DG series of Fender guitars that I know of or have heard of? They sell for about $300 new most guitars copied are expensive, vintage, or rare guitars if your still concerned check the logo a Real logo looks like part of the finish, a fake logo that you can buy is like a decal... really hope this helps?

The first # represents the year of manufacture so it's usually smaller or off set from the rest of the serial number

Fender Forums View topic Age of my Squier its a 1998 model.. CY: Y = Yako (Taiwan) C = China. CY is followed by 2-digit year. CY appears on most models produced in China, and is by far the most common form. These forms are apparently associated with the change to Crafted in China, so post-1996 models only would have this form of serial number. Some Chinese Gretsch's use a CY serial number. As far as price goes....that is all up to you but i would check on Ebay and craigslist and look at completed or sold items and see whats trending.. Good luck

It is an FB-58 I believe. Since Fender doesn't actually make their banjos, Samick made the ones in Korea, Fender just put their name on it. ...I doubt you'll find anything meaningful in the serial number. their website goes up to the point where production moved from Japan to Korea to China. The k in your serial number means it was made in Korea...which was sometime within the 2000's

Depends where it was Manufactured ? a Squire strat made in Indonesia is $100 a made in Mexico is about $300-500 and a USA is $1000 +

I think I can narrow it down for you. It seems you have an American made Strat, post 2000. Here is a guideline that describes when the "Z" nomenclature began. I hope this helps you & congrats on your Strat! "With the year 2000 came the introduction of the "Z" prefix serial numbers on US made instruments, which stood for the 0 of the new millennium. A Z0 prefix dates to 2000, a Z1 prefix dates to 2001 etcetera. The American Deluxe Series instruments use the same dating convention but with the addition of a "D" in front of the "Z", i.e. DZ1, DZ2 etcetera. Once again, and as always, there is typically some overlap and carryover of number prefixes from year to year."

Sounds like you're missing the guitar you paid for. Did you test the pick ups before you left the store or was it delivered? might be a bad weld. The wires might not be making full contact on to the connection of the pick up or the switch.
