No kidding but "good luck". Bose doesn't like telling anyone anything about the workungs or specs of their products. You'll only hear them tell you "it's the end all, be all product". And you're blindly supposed to accept that.

Looks like the capacitors on the amp are going. If you hear a hummm sound when you turn it on without anything playing on it, then the capacitors are to blame for sure -> Time to replace the capacitors.

The lifestyle system needs a power signal together with the audio signals, otherwise the unit/subwoofer will not come out of standby. That system was build to run with the lifestyle player...not 100%sure you really want to go try and hack it.
