Your waste ink absorber box has reached its limit. You have to replace the box (which is cheap, get one from your local brother service centre).
After replacing it you have to reset the purge counter and flushing counter.

This is not easy to do and I don't recommend it for anyone who is not technically inclined. You have to remove the front control panel, open the covers on the top cover assembly under the scanner. Unplug all the cables. Disconnect the ground wire (if any), remove the prop, remove the scanner assy by opening 90 degrees and sliding rearward. Put scanner aside. Remove four screws holding top case on, pry out the bosses at the front and remove the top cover.
At the rear you will see the flushing box or waste ink box. Lift it up a little. You should see two tubes attached. Remove the tubes and pull the box out. Dispose of old box. Attach the tubes to the new box and install it where the old one was. Reassemble in reverse order. Don't forget to plug in all the cables under the control panel.

Plug the unit in while holding down the Menu button. Keep holding until all the lights are flashing. Welcome to maintenance mode.
Press 8 and then 0. Press the Black Start key several times until you see Purge or Purge Count on the display. Now press 2, 7, 8, 3 to clear the count. Press Stop. Press 8, 0 again and the Black Start key several times until you see Flush or Flushing count. Again press 2, 7, 8, 3 to reset the flush count. Press Stop. Press 9 and 9 to exit maintenance mode. Job done.

You can cancel a fax job that is stored and waiting in the memory.
1 For MFC-210C,
press Menu/Set, 2, 5.
For MFC-420CN,
press Menu/Set, 2, 6.
Any jobs that are waiting will appear on the LCD.
2 If you have more than one job waiting, press ▲ or ▼ to select the
job you want to cancel.
Press Menu/Set.
—OR—
If you only have one job waiting, go to Step 3.
3 Press 1 to cancel.
To cancel another job go to Step 2.
—OR—
Press 2 to exit without canceling.
4 Press Stop/Exit.

That should do it for clearing faxes you dont need you can also print off all the faxes in the memory and I believe that clears it.

I had the same problem trying to send out faxes out using my Brother MFC 7340. I use a magic jack phone line. Page 106 of the user manual says if sending via VOIP phone line, you should press menu, then 2, 0, 1 to select "Basic (for VOIP) mode. Then press ok. Then press stop/exit. This cuts the modem speed down to 9600 bps and turns ECM off. Then retry to send the fax. I did that and can now send and receive faxes.

There can be a number or reasons for this. The top to are that the printer may need re-calibrating or the print quality is set to economy/fast draft instead of photo which is great when trying to save ink but printing a photo requires greater detail and more ink. Printing will take longer too.Hope this helps

Use a original brother ink cart. Do the cleaning twice. If there is no more black blocks to see, the printhead is crashed!

Please check the settings on the fax machine. check the line to the fax and also the connectors, check using a phone to hear the dial tone.If this seems good check if the fax dials the call, if not check the settings for pulse or tone and reset. If there is not dialling then the fax machine has problems that are serious which might need careful probing.

Hi,Are you facing this trouble from one particular program when you print ? Try Notepad to print and check. If it does not print. Follow the steps below.I think it could either be Alignment ( Ink Initialization ) Issue or Driver issue.My Suggestion is to Remove the Toner's and clean and re-insert.
