You will probably find there is some toner on the left hand edge of the OPC belt that interferes with the optical sensor reading the page rotation mark on the edge of the OPC. It may also have coated the optical sensor that is in front of the left hand edge of the OPC belt

This is a sensor error (belt marker). Could be a piece of paper or such stuck in there from a previous jam futzing up the sensor. Are you comfortable poking around inside your printer?

I have similar symptoms with my HL 2700CN. However, web interface to printer shows device status and reports "Missing Tray 1" error. (Tray 1 is present). Printer Firmware version number is reporting junk number, implies possible firmware corruption. I'm still investigating.

1. ejected the opc belt (there's a hatch on the top)

2. turned the mechanic wheels forward and back

3. inserted opc belt

4. turned on/off

5. printed a test page

if you have been printing a lot, the feed roller could be dirty or just plain old and hard. cleaning with alcohal could do it if it's dirty, if hard, it needs to be changed.

Seems that you can't fix the problem, 'BROTHER' should recall all of these and give us new printers. Big dollars have been spent on the printer, the only solution is, that you are told to switch off the printer and on again and see what happens.

This unit is heavy and it costs big dollars to get someone out to have a look at it.

BROTHER promises big but delivers small in this case.
