Sending to print it goes but the printer prints
Try a few cleanings. Press the ink button then test print then quality, it will print a test page, from here you follow the instructions if the quality is bad. It will take you through a cleaning process.

My Brother MFC-5840CN.Is showing Unable to clean
Mechanical problem with the machine.
The purge unit needs to be replaced.
Check

The repair is at least 50$, may not be worth repairing.
I recommend looking for another inkjet on sale and just replace this one

Failure to scan and rattling sound
If you are going to be rude to someone that is trying to help you I don't think I would like to give you any troubleshooting tips at all. I think whatever I tell you that YOU don't think is the right answer will be met with more negative comments. Perhaps you should take some time out of your day and search the internet for others that have had this problem. I know it can be immensely frustrating when a printer stops working, but civility usually gets you further toward a solution. Enjoy your paper weight.

Printer prints backwards/upsidedown
This sounds like an advanced setting on your printer setup. When you get to the print dialog, hit Properties for your printer, then look around there for a "mirror" or "reverse" setting. Different printers use different drivers, so your configuration options are difficult to predict.

Fails alignment and color tests, continual
Hello there
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.
First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.
If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Blank Pages being printed
Hi There
Summary
Usage of compatible ink and leave the printer idle too long may cause printhead clogging
What should you do if you get this problem. Relax; you may recover the printhead by unclogging it. Follow these steps to unclog the printhead
1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning
And if that not work
Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.
Ok.
There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.
Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.
Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

Brother MFC-5840CN Will not print and message
Inside the machine is a large plastic box packed with felt pads. The machine cleans its printheads by squirting ink through all the nozzles to blast them clear, then pumps that used ink into the Ink Absorber Box. When it calculates the the box is getting full, it puts up the message you reported. The box (Brother part number LF4818001) is a fairly cheap part, but getting to it is kind of complicated. Instructions for the nearly-identical model 5440 are
here. Two other options worth considering are finding a local servicer on brother's website, or replacing the machine.

I can't erase PAPER JAM
Did you take out the trays to see if paper is stuck/jammed under the print mechanism? Check to see if torn paper is in the rollers?
