Brother DCP-7020 All-In-One Laser Printer Questions & Answers
Dcp 7020 and 7040 toner life end message premature, need override
When the Toner Life End LED flips on, requires you to replace the cartridge,
even when there's still toner left in the cartridge. The machine
detects end of life by shining a light through from one side to the
other.
To circumvent the detection mechanism, remove the cartridge and put
a piece of masking tape over or jam a little bit of paper into the clear opening/circle on the right side
of the toner cartridge, and then pop the cartridge back in. Eventually,
you'll start seeing streaks, and then you'll know that the cartridge is
truly empty.

Install my printer, have a message about USB port MALFUNCTION in my printer BROTHER DCP7020 laser
Hello, Jorge.
It would help to know "exactly" what the error message states, such as "The USB Device Not Recognized" or something like that. Here are a couple of things to try in order to narrow down the problem source:
1. Try a different USB connection on the computer. If that one works, the problem is probably that other connection port.
2. If none of the ports work with the printer, try a different USB-powered device, such as a cell phone and charging cable. If it works, the problem lies with the printer/computer connection (more likely the printer).
3. If none of the USB ports work, the problem might be your USB port itself. Go to "Device Manager" (in Control Panel), then look for "Universal Serial Bus controllers." Check to see if any have a disabled symbol. Check under "Properties" that device status is: "This device is working properly." If not, try updating the drivers (under the "Driver" tab).
I am changing the ink cartridge i put the new
Here is the solution that will reset the count and allow your fully
functional toner cartridge (the one the printer tells you is empty) to
continue to work.
Open the front cover.
Press options button.
Press
the start button.
Press + or up arrow button 10 times.
Press set
button.
You have to do this with a long pause or the system will
reset and you will have to start over.
Good luck.
Keeps saying paper jam,but no paper jam is inside
The jam indication is set because the sensor(s) detect one. This could be due to a buildup of paper dust, a small bit of a sheet that tore off and got lodged deep inside when removing a previous jam, or damage to the sensors if the jam was removed forcibly by pulling the sheets out from the wrong direction.
Where is the drum located in the printer?
The drum unit is attached to the toner cartridge for the DCP-7020. If you open the front cover (flips down) of the printer, you need to simply pull the drum and toner unit straight out from the printer. You should place the unit on a large drop cloth or piece of paper to ensure that the toner doesn't spill. See chapter 6, page 12 (page 52) of the User's manual for the image of the drum unit. Page 6-19 has the removal procedure. You separate the toner unit from the drum by pressing and holding a lever on the left side of the unit. Then pull the toner cartridge straight out from the drum unit. The User's manual is available from Brother's product support page. The direct link to the manual is

I hope this helps.

BROTHER DCP-7065DN HOW TO REPAIR LEFT SIDE VERY LIGHT PRINTING
When this occurs it usually means that the toner cartridge is running out of toner on that side. The left is most common since most printing is on that side. Remove the toner cartridge, and shake it vigorously from side to side for a few second, then replace and try again..
