Zenith C27A24T 27" TV - Page 6 Questions & Answers
TV Model # C27A24T about nine or ten years old. TV
Bad grounds and bad caps will cause the problems in this tv. You will need to replace several caps and resolder the tuner itself and that means taking the tuner out in some cases and rework it. This is very time consuming and needs great care not to destroy the tuner. And reinstall the tuner to the board. You need the cap check to locate bad caps and visual to see bad grounds on any Ic on heatsinks. If you are a do it yourselfer fine.. If you cannot do this I would just replace the tv.

CANT GET CABLE CONNECTED RIGHT
Hook a VCR to it with a tape playing and make sure the VCR RF switch is set to channel 3. Then do the auto search. If it still does not find channel 3, then your TV has a bad tuning circuit.
White lines across screen and color faded.
Those lines are called vertical retrace lines. They appear when the G2 (screen) voltage is set too high, or when the video amplifier fails or lacks the high voltage supply (200v).
Have you got any electronics experience? You will need a multimeter and soldering skills.
If you do or know someone who does, take the set apart, look at the video amplifier IC (it is on the board at the back of the tube), get its model and download the datasheet. Find the pin that is labeled "high voltage supply" and with the set turned on measure it against the one that says "ground". You should have somewhere between 180-210v there. If that voltage reads zero or a very low value, the amplifier circuit is shorted or the power supply is not working properly. Unsolder the video amplifier and measure again, if the voltage comes up then buy a new amplifier IC, if it doesn't it's time to check the power supply. I believe you can find a service manual easily, follow the directions there.
Safety precautions: Do not under any circumstances touch the leads of any capacitors, and stay away from the big fat wire going to the top of the tube. Do not do anything inside the TV while it is plugged in (except measurements), and always use well-insulated tools. The high voltage section of the TV does not pose any health danger, however the shock it can give you will make you jump back, possibly into something sharp.
Tv will not turn on
HI, check the wall outlet to make sure that it is live.if you are using a surge protector, i would pull the unit from the protector and, try a wall outlet. sometimes the surge protector will short out and, it will seem that the TV is the issue. if the protector is fine and, the wall sockets are ok, this will confirm a more serious issue that concerns the power sector inside the unit.
You will need to replace the power supply board or, fly back assembly in this case.
Hotel TV
check in preset under menu the channels 30 above maybe skip, set this channels to skip off. or just do the auto tuning.
