This model is already Region Free for DVDs but only Region A (in most cases) for Blu Rays and can't be changed. You can buy a version of this which is sometimes called BDP550 which is Region Free for DVDs and Blu Rays.

Does somebody know how to
Access the DVD setup menu by turning on the unit without a DVD in the drive.
Press simultaneously the "arrow down" button on the right side of the
DVD recorder and the "clear" button on the remote control
simultaneously for about six seconds to access the options menu.
Use sideways arrow keys on remote control to navigate to OP6. Set value
of option to "8F" (for region free) and press "enter" on remote
control to save changes.
When message saying "save ok" appears press "menu/list" on remote
control to exit options menu. The unit will reboot and is now able to
play any DVD.

It's a software issue. you need to ring the manufacturer to get files and instructions on how to upgrade your machine so it can play the newer blu ray movies. Quite a common problem.
Help I cant open the tray to get the disc out
Most players have a tiny hole in the tray, into which you can insert a straightened paper clip, straight in, to push the latch mechanism and release the door. Check the owner's manual if you still have it...should be documented there.
