Hi,
If there is no red led light in the front panel, this is an indication that the power supply board is not working (dead). This board must be check for blown fuse, if the unit is not under warranty period, I would advice you to open the back cover and then check the fuse on the said board. Power supply board is where the power cord directly connected.
Sometimes fuse blew because of voltage surge, aging, or low quality, replacing with same ampere and voltage rating will cure the problem.
Check the power supply board and let me know what will happen after the fuse replacement to assist you further.

Hello,

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

This is an indication of out-of-regulation condition in the power supply board. This was caused by leaky/dried filter electrolytic capacitor in that board. It will dropped the voltage and will disable the unit. On the first stage of symptoms, warm-up will make itself stable after powering on and off but it will get worst, times will come that the unit will not even power up at all.
Leaky electrolytic capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify. See sample picture.


Dried electrolytic capacitor has no physical indication of fault, you must have a capacitor checker to determine its condition.

Today got a package from Protron. replacement power supply that they sent me free. Problem is they sent one for a pltv32 and mine is a pltv3250, got the wrong one. 32 is external and 3250 is internal

It would be on the TV remote usually for "pic size/resolution" You can probably find the resolution settings in the picture menu. 4:3, theater wide, etc.

Hi, I would say, change to a channel that is good. Also check that cable is in properly. or You have a bad cable. Check with anther good TV to rule out TV and or cable. Check with cable company what else you need. You might need a set top box to decode DTV channels. Good luck.

That problem is 2 causes,its either power supply or system board.
This are some D.I.Y procedure for troubleshooting.

1. Open the back cover by removing all screws at the back.
2. Try to look at the power supply board and find the leak/bulge on top capacitors.If you found,replace it with the same type and ratings.
3. If the power supply doesn't have any leak capacitors.Try to power it ON to perform voltage checking.
4. Check the output voltage of power supply such as 5vdc,12vdc and 24vdc by using voltmeter.If this 3 supplies having a voltage drop or flickering voltage while on power ON.Check the following parts on the power supply,change value/open resistor,shorted transistor and diode or repeat step # 2.
5. When the output voltage is stable and all parts looks OK.The problem could be on system board.Unfortunately the system board or main board is not for D.I.Y because the parts inside is very logic and very sensitive.That is replaceable.

Check the backlight inverter the is the part that turns on the TV light so that you can see the picture. If there is power going into it usually 24v DC and the backlight is not turning on then it's provably your backlight inverter that is bad. If you look at it it has a part number on it that you cna use to order anotherone. You can order it from www.interliquidparts.com

The TV doesn't support either the resolution or the frequency you are running.
When running a PC to TV set, you should be running at 60Hz and use a standard frequency like 1024 X 78 or 1280 X 1024

Where did u bought this tv?Buy it from Asia,Europe,Austria,Africa,middle East?All these countries places are using the same frequencies signal which is PAL,and used 230V.Buy it from USA,Mexico,Canada?All these contries places are using the same frequencies signal which is NTSC,and used 120V.

You can have it repaired, more likely to be bad power supply module, tah will be the first palce to check. You can expect $150 and up in repair bill.

The inverter is in two parts, master and slave board.

The part new is out of stock. You find used ones for cheap from this Ebay seller.

You will need to inspect the power supply. The chances are real good you have bad capacitors in the power supply. I would estimate there will be 5 capacitors that will be replaced. You may change them all, which is best. Some capacitors will check good when they are not. The power supply will be the smaller of the two boards inside this TV. It is also the easiest to pull out. You may use a capacitor checker to locate the bad caps. This is know as an ESR meter. Once again, it may show a good cap when it may in fact be a bad one. This is rare of course, but I have been there. Please replace all caps in the power supply board. If there is a good capacitor it will be the 400 volt 100Mf (Largest capacitor in the power supply) that is fine! Thanks for asking and show all hands of support.

Your TVs audio output IC has damaged. It has to be replaced with same type and number. to confirm it, check by feeding your TVs audio out socket to any other amplifier and check whether there is sound or not. If there is sound, and nosound comes from its speaker, no doubt that the audio output IC has damaged. OK.

It does use F connector for the coaxial cable connections.

When you say there is no power to it at all does that mean that there is no LED infront of the tv? Please provide this info so that we can continue the diagnosis.
