We have an Epson Powelite

An image is produced in these projectors by passing color through three different LCD panels. One is a Red, one a blue, and the last one a purple. It sounds like the green panel is damaged. The only way to tell is to take it to an Epson authorized service center.

How do I project my computer screen onto the screen

Every laptop has a facility to toggle the display from the screen to an external display. The exact method varies from brand to brand. But they're all a variation on the same theme. It's the Function button (Fn) and one of the F keys. On my HP its Fn + F4. I've had laptops in the past where it has been F5 and others that were F8. All of them though had a little symbol representing a screen on the correct key. The way it works is that the laptop screen is on. The first press of the two buttons will put both screens on. The next press is just the output to the projector. The final press brings it round to the laptop only again. Once you have just the projector running, then you should change the display resolution to suit the projector if the laptop hasn't already done it for you. You can tell when it's wrong because the text won't be crisp. The Powewrlite S1+ has a resolution of 800x600. Right click on the PC desktop and then select "graphics properties" or similar from the menu. Change the resolution from the drop down box. Click OK to confirm.

The machine is projecting purple

Hello, firstly I would try a new VGA cable first and then wiggle the VGA cable in the ports, sometimes the ports become damaged when strain is put on them (more likely to be the laptop VGA port) If this doesn't correct the problem then it is likely to be a polarizing lens in the projector. If so it may be too costly to repair as projectors can be bought for just over £200.

Good luck
