I use 5 out of 6 aux. for monitor...That leaves only 1 aux. for delay/reverb. is there another way to hook up delay/reverb to mixer?...SR24-4 mackie mixer...

It sounds like you're new to 'professional' mixers. You would NEVER normally use an aux for effects. Any effects will normally be inserted in the sound chain using an insert. You have a pair of group inserts if you are wanting to apply an effect to the output (these are after the mix) and would typically be used for master de-essers or possibly compressor limiters or maybe even an equaliser, it would not be sensible to use an effect like a delay/reverb here. I would have expected you to be using the group outs for the monitor mixes and am not sure what you may be using them for otherwise. If you used these you would free up 4 of the Aux outs for a 'multi channel' reverb/echos which you could take back into other channels and back into the main mix. What is it you are tyring to achieve?

How can i get more

Without more information of your speakers and amps we can't really help you. The Mackie board puts out line-level signals and that should drive any connected amp or powered speaker to the full capability. Make sure you are using BALANCED interconnect lines either XLR or TRS cables. Use of TS unbalanced cables costs you 6 DB and also noise pickup. Make sure ALL your gear, amps, speakers etc are powered from a SINGLE receptacle or power conditioning module. Normally you will use the AUX outputs of the mixer by way of TRS cables or balanced lines in a snake to power amplifiers onstage which then connect to the stage monitors. If you have powered monitors the returns of the aux to the stage go to the powered monitors. A heavy duty extension cord brings power back from thee stage power to the mixer.

MUFFLED SOUND, STATIC FEEDBACK AT HIGH VOLUMES

Check the sound in the headphones... It may be your power amps are giving out. MAKE SURE the interconnect cables are either XLR or TRS cables (balanced line). Make sure your power amps and the mixer are ALL powered from the same receptacle OR power conditioner module. You cannot power the amps from one end of a building room and the mixer frrom a wall receptacle at the other end. The building ground bounce can not only cause noise, but can destroy sensitive input circuits of the equipment.

Download the schematic at:

http://elektrotanya.com/mackie_1604-vlz_mixer.pdf/download.html

Scroll down to the link to download that says "Get Manual"

This is for the 1604 unit which is just a truncated version of yours. When downloaded, find the phantom power supply on page 18.

There are too many components to guess which one so best just to troubleshoot.

I would even suspect the phantom switch since they have POOR design with no inrush current limiting when charging the input capacitor. Since the 48 is not individually fused, if the inpout cap C3 shorts, it probably will take out the switch or the diodes.

Another user had the Zener D9 fail which would cause the problem. Meter the voltage across C3 (probably about 60 volts) and D9 and C4 (47 volts). First check C4 as that cap is run TOO close to the rating of 50 volts... poor design... C5 would also be suspect... or Q1 and Q2.

Then it gets dicey as there are UNDOUBTEDLY many bypass caps in the mixer portion of the board.

Possibly you are using the audio from the subs or the Aux which are NOT controlled by the slide faders?

Sometimes users turn up the stage monitors to the point they can't control enough with the mains.

Make sure your system passes the audio to the amps from the XLR plugs for the mains on the back AND you use BALANCED lines to do so.

I am experiencing signal loss at numerous points

You need to describe what you mean by "several points".

These mixers have sections grouped and if you lose signal as a group, I believe it is eight channels, cables MIGHT be a problem. If it is random channels, it is more likely a failure of faders if they seem noisy and cut out. A small amount of CRC226 squirted into the center of the slot and working them MIGHT restore noise free operation.

Note: One can do a lot of troubleshooting externally by analyzing the different outputs from the AUX and SUB's and headphones using the SOLO buttons, etc. First thing is to completely characterize the failures.

My Mackie SR1530 is powering on but no sound.

If your Mackie SR1530 is powering on but you're not getting any sound, there could be a number of potential causes. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check your connections: Make sure that all cables are properly connected and securely plugged in. Check both the cables going into the speaker and the cables that are connected to your audio source.
  2. Check your audio source: Make sure that your audio source is turned on and properly connected. Try connecting a different audio source to the speaker to rule out issues with the source.
  3. Check the volume levels: Make sure that the volume on both your audio source and the speaker are turned up. Try turning up the volume to see if you can hear anything.
  4. Check the input settings: Make sure that the input settings on the speaker are correct. For example, if you are using an XLR cable, make sure that the input on the speaker is set to XLR.
  5. Test the speaker with a different audio source: If you have access to another audio source, try connecting it to the speaker to see if you can get any sound.
If none of these troubleshooting steps work, there may be an issue with the speaker itself. It may be a good idea to contact Mackie customer support or a qualified audio technician for further assistance.
