Can't shut off closed caption
I have the JVC I Art 46" TV. The Close Caption was turn on accidentally by my grandson. After lots of searching for the original remote. I called JVC Customer Support. He told me to change the Close Caption settings to CC2 and T1. That fixed the CC without having the original remote.
How do I tune in
check first your antena connection and do auto scanning of channels to refresh the system memory hope it help
Screen turns green The picture and sound are fine
Sad to say, but that's one of the ways a picture tube can behave when it's gone bad. After it warms up, one of the wire elements in the neck of tube sags and touches something it shouldn't. As a result you're seeing the green screen, and then the set shuts down for safety because of voltage feeding back. The only way to repair the set would be with a new tube, and that's completely uneconomical. You can buy a new 32-inch LCD set now for less than the price of a new tube, not including the labor to install the replacement and get the color alignment (convergence) set up.
No sound
Sounds like a bad autio output transistor. You can get the part # & location from the schematic in the back of the set. It's not hard to change it yourself. Should cost about 15 dollars at electronic parts house.
Jvc av32f704 has no raster/picture,
You need to check in this order: the high tension(just by touching the screen, you should feel it) , the cathodes are heated (the base of the tube should be glowing) and that the cathodes are powered - the pinouts can be found here
http://ews.uiuc.edu/~nshin/PROJECTS/ARCADE/monitor_tubes.txt
and the voltage on them should be around 150.
If all is ok then the fault is in the processor - it's the big rectangular, black one - it will have to be replaced. You must get an absolute identical one - the model number and its version are printed on it.
There is no sound on
I believe that on the remote for this set there's a button that says SAP or STEREO. That may have gotten pressed and changed the TV's stereo mode. If the TV is set for SAP (second audio, often used for a different language, for instance, or weather information) and there isn't a SAP signal on the channel, on many models you get no sound at all. It's easy to hit the button without knowing it.
Also check the audio settings menu to see if there's a SPEAKER OFF setting that may have been selected, or check the TV's back panel. Some models have a speaker on-off switch that may have been moved.
There's also the chance that something in the set's sound circuit has failed. With electronic parts, you often have no indication that something is near to failing. Works great, then the next time you turn on the set the part goes bad. (There's an initial surge when the TV first comes on that can cause a weak part to fail, much like a light bulb always seems to blow when you turn the lamp on and not while it's already on. The initial surge is why.)
If you can't find any setting or external cause for the loss of sound, you'll need to have the TV serviced. There are several things that can go bad and cause a loss of sound, so I can't point to any one part for you.
While watching tv the screen will go blank, sound
It might be a loose solder connection inside, try to prove it,the next time it goes blank, firmly give a whack to the back or bottom of the set,if it flashes back......sholud be a loose solder conn that a competent technician can find and repair
My jvc av32f704 will only play dvd's won't show
Sounds like a tuner problem if you can't get the channels to work through the 75 ohm screw in connector in the back of the set . Now if you use a cable box or satelite box you can use the yellow-red-white connectors out of the box and into the video inputs in the back of the tv . Hopefully you have more than one input in the back of your set as you might already be using one of them for the dvd player .

25 inch sanyo tv
If the horizontal lines going through the picture are fine white lines, then I would suspect the picture tube as having a heater to cathode short or some other problem. Since some sets have had a 3 year warranty on the picture tube, you may be lucky unless the labor to replace the tube is more than the set is worth. Sanyo is usually not a good name in consumer electronics anymore, so if you're looking for a replacement I would look elsewhere.
JVC AV-32F704 32" TV Picture is blurry - cannot read any writing on the screen
You didn't mention if you saw fine white diagonal lines running through the screen from top to bottom. If so, you likely have a shorted Picture Tube which is not usually fixable. If there are no lines seen running through the screen, then it is possible the High voltage transformer which also has a screen voltage and focus control built in that could be bad. I would expect the cost of that part to be about $100, so the repair cost total could approach that of a new set I would guess.
