Jvc f21mx5 red ligths only

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can vet an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. I followed your instructions on how to lighten up

Hello
Sometimes you may have turned the screen control counter clockwise more than needed. Just turn it clockwise a little more and come to the point there is some light on the screen, at the same time looking for rertrace lines, and just turn counterclockwise again to just turn off the lines if any.
You must do this placing the TV on a dark room, then only you can set this point correctly.
Note that the screen and focus controls are interactive, and sometimes the focus control should be adjusted to a little to get the proper focus.
You can do it I'm sure. Go on. If any doubts please don't hesitate to come over us. Ok.
Take care when you work on dark.

Black box on screen

I had the same thing, but on a monitor. It means some pixels on your TV are heavily damaged, meaning your tv fell, or something got thrown at it or just hit it hard, or just because the box you bought it in wasn't completely sealed which damaged the device in transport.

Those pixels cannot be recovered, meaning you would have to use your warranty (if you still have it, or if it is still valid) to send this back to the company (or bringing it to the store you bought it in) to get a new one.

Hi, There is a black box in the middle of the screen

Try to toggle the close caption button on your remote control. I think there are three positions to set from if I'm not mistaken, may be from there you can solve your problem. Good Luck

Makes repeated popping/clicking noise when plugged

sounds like the power supply is oscillating or the safety circuits are shutting the supply down and the restart circuits are starting things up again. Either way, you need to have this TV inspected by a professional repairer. The power supply is capable of supplying several hundreds of volts, more then enough to give you a nasty shock or KILL YOU !!!! The safety circuits are there to shut the tv down if something goes wrong, which can include dangerous levels of x-rays and other electromagnetic radiation, a faulty flyback transformer or EHT transformer can cause a fire.. So please, have it checked by a qualified tech..

Have a big black box in the middle of the screen

You may have inadvertently turned on the "Closed Caption Text" mode. This inadvertently happens after first hooking the TV up and was exploring its features .press the C.C. button on your remote until you see "Closed Caption Off" on your screen. The plain black box should then go away. in some remotes its only C on the button.press that button continuously. this will help Please do rate the solution. Thank you for using fixya.keep updated. thanks

THE MAIN BOARD IS SHORTED, IF THIS TV IS MORE THAN 5 YEARS OLD I WOULD SUGGEST U REPLACE IT, THE PART IS AROUND $400.00 AND THEN AT LEAST 3 HOURS OF LABOR TIME TO REPAIR AND RESET THE TV ALIGNMENT.

JVC 36" TV will not power on and has a blinking power light...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Almost always, when an electronic device/equipment fails when powered with and by a generator, it is the power supply unit (PSU). The PSU circuitry expects a fairly constant/stable power source (120 or 220). The output of the generator tends to fluctuate especially under varying electrical load. Additionally, the AC frequency (60Hz) of the generator's output also tend to vary which most PSUs don't like. A noteworthy point to consider is that the generator is floating electrically, its output has no reference to earth/ground.

If you are considering a DIY (do-it-yourself), foremost to inspect would be the PSU particularly the regulator transistor and determine if it outputs +5 and ~+135 VDC. Another to check would be the HOT (horizontal output transistor). If when the TV was used powered by a generator, there was considerable vertical rolling, the vertical deflection IC would also be a suspect.

A friendly reminder, exercise caution when repairing TVs. It stores up EHV (extremely high voltage). It would be to your advantage to reference a service manual (JVC AV-36D303) or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Picture Tube alignment

the oscillation is not constant, there are two things to check in that tv. take your tv to a w/shop and let the following be checed
power output voltage if its constant from the power supply, changes.
secondly, check the variation of capacitance values on the power supply, and on the line transformer section.
dont gorget to test a line transistor also.
okay.
