Y-SUS board: How to determine if it's fried?
Your solid green "resistor" is probably a fuse and will have an amp rating stamped on it, if you can read it with a magnifying glass. Before you replace that you need to find out what else on the board or somewhere else in the TV is blowing the fuse. Resistors have bands to denote their value unless it is a large power resistor and the value is written on it.
Tv has sound but black
You most likely need two new buffers and possibly a new/repair for YSUS board LJ41-02142A .
Considering the age of the TV my advice would be to just get a new one.
I have a maxent MX42VM11 which has a picture but no sound?
if you go into the menu of the TV go to the sound setup and select then goto speaker select and select internal speakers (Note: The menus may not be may not be 100% like the ones described here but the menus are mostly alike for most TVs.) or on the back of the TV there is a switch or button that has a selection for either internal or satalite select internal and you should get sound after you turn the TV back on. (Note: the switch on the back could be labled different)
I checked power supply and
The small green resistor could be a pico fuse, check the markings on the board and look for an F and a number next to it. If that fuse is blown, it means something (Mosfet, transistor) got shorted to blow the fuse. To measure capacitors, you will need a capacitance meter but they rarely become shorted, so I would focus on the mosfets and transistors.
