Casio FX-300MS Calculator - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Entering,and working formulas with,Logarithms of
I am not sure there is a question expressed here. If you have a formula you want to use to calculate some quantity in it, state the formula, provide the known values and we will show you how to enter it. As to what it serves for, I for one do not need to know.
Polynomials division on calculator
You need a calculator with a Computer Algebra System or CAS to be able to perform polynomial division. This calculator FX-330Ms cannot handle it: No CAS.
How do i use e?
On most calculators, a mathematical function and its inverse function share the same physical key. One function is accessed directly by pressing the key, the other function is accessed by pressing SHIFT and the function key.The exponential function e^x is the inverse of natural log (ln(x))To access the exponential e^x, press [SHIFT] [LN]. If the exponent is like yours, an expression not simple, enclose the expression in parentheses to ensure that the exponent is the one intended.
How to take anti log
Depending on the actual log function you are talking about, the inverse function (what you call the anti log) can be one of several things. The inverse of the natural log (LN) is the exponential function e^x.If y= ln(x) then x=e^y On a calculator functions that are inverse of one another share the same physical key. If one function is marked on a key, the inverse function is usually the SHIFTED (or 2nd) key The inverse of the common (decimal logarithm) is the power function with 10 as base.Example: if y= log(x) then x=10^y For an arbitrary base (must be positive) if y= log_b(x) then x=b^y.Note: I do not think that the FX-300ms can perform log calculations in bases other than e (natural log) or 10 (common decimal log).
How to calculate logrithm of base of any number in
you need the change of base formula:
log base b of m is ln m / ln b
So- to find log base 2 of 8, simply find ln8/ln2
(from Wikipedia - the proof also follows if you want to go look it up)
While there are several useful identities, the most important for calculator use lets one find logarithms with bases other than those built into the calculator (usually log
e and log10). To find a logarithm with base
b, using any other base
k:
1/4=3/12
yahhh...............they are ralated because if you find the lcm for 4 the answer 1/4 the lcm will be 12.............
How can i perform Log
log(9)/log(2) (both base 10) is equal to log(9)base 2. This works for anything, try it backwards and you'll find that 2^(log(9)/log(2)) is equal to 9.
How we get quadratic equation
Hi rayalak857,
Have a nice day.
Calculator does not have a solve program, but you can use it to solve the quadratic equation with a little effort. If you know the theory skip toward the end.
Here is the example:
Let aX^2+bX+C=0
1. First calculate the discriminant usually called Delta and given by
Delta =b^2 -4*a*c store the value in the variable D
If Delta is positive you have two roots X1 and X2 given by
X1=(-b+square root of Delta)/(2*a)
X2=(-b- square root of Delta)/(2*a)
If Delta is equal to 0, X1=X2=-b/(2*a)
If Delta i negative, no real solutions exist
You only solve if Delta is positive or equal to 0.
Putting in the values of a, b, and c
value of a (put you number) [SHIFT][STO] A
value of b (put your value) [SHIFT][STO] B
value of c (put you value) [SHIF][STO] C
[ALPHA] B [X^2] -4[x][ALPHA] A [x][ALPHA] C [=]
Value of delta is displayed. If it is positive, you store its square root in D
[Square root] [ANS] [SHIFT][STO] D ;
Calculate 1/(2*a) and store in variable F
1./(2[x] ALPHA A) [SHIFT][STO] F
To obtain X1
[ALPHA] F [x] ( (-) ALPHA B + ALPHA D ) [=]
To obtain X2
[ALPHA] F [x] ( (-) ALPHA B - ALPHA D ) [=]
Be careful: the (-) is the change sign not the regular minus sign.
Hope it helps. Goodluck
Thank you for using fixya.
I need to determine how
Press [SHIFT][MODE][6][4]:
When you select FIX (by pressing [SHIFT][MODE][6] ) on your calculator
you can specify number of decimal places which are displayed (you can
choose any number from 0 to 9).
I am in chemistry and
The key is marked "x-superscript-negative-one" and located just below the "SHIFT" key.
How do i put in
Look for the key marked [a b/c]. The shifted function of that key is [d/c]. Use it to enter an improper fraction. Numerator [SHIFT] [a b/c] then denominator. You can also just enter the numerator, press the division key, then enter the denominator.
To toggle between fraction and decimal use a key marked [FD].
