I suggest you may need to wait till the first signal is received by watch.
If all this doesn't work, then check the battery condition- it may be underpowered and need replacement. Eve if your watch is brand new, the battery may be few years old.
Do not forget to rate, please.
Alarm goes off at midnight & repeats for half hour, and not set
what you have to do is
1. press the mode button until you get to the setting that has "AL" at the bottom right.
2. then you press the "receive" button to switch between the four alarms.
3. as you are going through each alarm time, you need to look in the circle at the top right. When you are going through the alarm times, if there is a mark next to "ALM", you need to press the "time memo" button so that the mark next to "ALM" is no longer there.
4. repeat step fout for all of the alarms, and the problem should be fixed.
My son seems to have set his Casio Wave Ceptor wv
You need to manually adjust or set the hands to the home position as they are not where the watch thinks they should be. This can happen when you bring your watch close to a strong magnetic field. Look in the manual to do this. Afterwards your watch should set to the correct time.
P.S. – I would greatly appreciate a FixYa! rating if the solution I provided fixed or helped you resolve your problem. thanks

WV-57H Watch - how do
If you look at the watch from the side, you'll see that there's a two-part metal piece on the underside of the watch on each side. The metal piece is a spring-loaded pin going through the strap which is holding on a larger metal piece. You need to get another small pin (or an eyeglass screwdriver might work) so you can poke in the end of that spring loaded metal piece, which will allow you to slip off the larger metal bracer. Then you can poke the spring-loaded pin entirely out of the strap and it will be freed entirely.
To help you visualize what you are doing, the spring-loaded pin operates similarly to a toilet-paper roll - you need to compress the pin so you can slip off the larger metal bit, then take out the pin, which will free the strap.
