i have the same problem in a 2001 mercury cougar. i got power all the way to the back of the radio from the ignition (red) and constant (yellow) wires and the ground wire is good. Think the head unit might be screwed the fuses are all fine. not sure though

Get a wiring plug kit. These are available at any Walmart. They are specific for your vehicle make and not the radio. Radio manufacturers typically use all of the same colors so this should be a matter of matching color to color straight forward. Double check this with yoru radio manufacturer schematic before applying power to the radio.

Here is the wiring diagram for your truck

Remote wire is wires to an amplifier.
It produces a 5v signal so your amplifier turns on.
If you do not have an amplifier - the wire is not used.

make sure that you have wired it to the manufacturers spesification, ie, that you have one wire, ususlly the yellow , going to a permanent, not switched power sourse

This could happen when your speaker wires are touching the body of the car near the place where you connect them to the body.

If so, try using some wooden spacers to avoid contact with the car body
