Can you confirm that you get no sound and picture? Apparently, these units, along with Panasonic & Hitachi units which are similar in design and use the ALiS panel from Hitachi/Fujitsu have a weakness in power supply. If yours has this problem, you should at least get sound.
My Spheros started acting up (no picture) after a move as well. If yours has the same problem as mine, you could opt to replace the power supply by a Loewe rep and pay $1500. I just use a hair dryer to get the picture going. Let me know if you need the details.
Good luck.
How to remove the back
I must say i haven't seen this model before, but I can't imagine it would be any different than the others, so with that said. You have to remove all the screws from around the back of the set, including the ones around the connectors and jacks, the screws out of the legs on the back of he set and all the screws around the edge then the support where the legs were attached and then the screws around the box with all the video jacks that pulls off.
If your going to lay it down while doing this be very careful not to damage the screen, use pillows and towels to lay it on and make sure no pressure is put on the screen itself.
Let me know if you need furthur assistance.
To transport a loewe spheros 42 plasma unit with
Yes, it should be transported in upright position.
When we moved, our moving company arranged a crating company to crate our Spheros unit. They built a crate around the TV and secured it in an upright position along with the rotating stand. They then put a tilt sensor (you get the serial number of the tilt sensor) to make sure that the moving people don't tilt the crate. They also un-crate it at your destination. The only problem is that the TV is already quite heavy to begin with (~180 lbs), and with the crate, it becomes almost impossible for the movers move it in perfect upright position....though our movers really tried hard.
I heard the television
Hello,
Thanks for using FixYa.
The pop you heard is the sound of a capacitor blowing out. Do not turn your TV on because it might cause more problems. What you need to do right now is to bring your TV to a technician and have it fixed. Capacitors only cost less than $5, the labor would of course cost more... This can be a 15-30 minute job for the technician. I just hope that no other parts were damaged after you switched it back on.
I hope this helps. Thanks and happy holidays.
