This type of fault is a power problem, Power supply board just die.It can be dead at anytime.Tries websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

It seems as if the Picture-in-Picture feature of your television is activated. Please take a look at the remote control and find the PIP button and press it, this should bring the picture into full-screen and allow you to hear the audio.

Look for bulging or leaking capacitors.
There's been a lot of capacitor failures in all kinds of devices lately.
Since you know what a MOSFET is, I'll assume that's really all the explanation you need to go looking for the damaged compunents.
Check most carefully on the power supply and inverter boards.

Thats the classic symptoms of a bad power supply. Specifically bad capacitors on the power supply board.
Wiki encyclopedia even has an section on it.

If this set is under warranty you should return it to get it repair/replace. If not then; This sounds like the power supply board is failing. The electrolytic capacitors on the board may need to be replaced. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH ELECTRONICS REPAIR(soldering ) or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can fix it. >Unplug the set and any cables. >Remove the back cover. >look at the capacitors on the power supply board. If the top of any of them are bulging up then that verifies the problem. >You will have to replace ALL the electrolytic capacitors except for perhaps the large one. >Disconnect and remove the power supply board. Handle by the edges to prevent contaminates and static electricity.> Use ones with the Low Equivalent Series Resistance ESR rating> Use ones with the same farad rating > Use ones with the same or higher voltage rating> Use ones with high temperature rating> Install one at a time to prevent mix-up and keep the polarity correct. > Leave a space between the PC board and the bottom of the capacitors for expansion. Yes you can replace the power board but if the capacitors have not been replaced they will eventually fail also.

This is simply a software issue. Your software is not compatible with their software, in other words, If after switching from TV to Aux 1, Aux2, Aux3, Etc. it still doesn't work, it never will.

First of all open the player and get access to the mechanism.Now manually turn the loading motor to release the cd and eject.Now use a multimeter to check the voltage on the loading motor drive IC.If the IC receives input signal when the eject button is pressed,then the motor must receive voltage.If not IC is faulty,if yes motor is faulty.If no control to IC processor board is faulty.

To reset the machine to factory settings it's easy - just press the power button from the case for 15 seconds and the unit will shutdown - unplug it from the wall after that. Wait one minute and restart. After that you will have to reconfigure it.

Defective TV remotes can be repaired. A remote control that does not respond well or that does not work at all probably has worn or defective component parts. Before investing in a replacement remote controller, first test the TV unit to determine if the TV is not working property. If all systems are in order, consider troubleshooting the remote control with some simple household tools and materials.

Mild soap
Cloth towel
Pencil eraser
Fiberglass brush
Cotton balls
Phillips screwdriver
Aluminum foil (silver and copper)
Epoxy
Step 1
Check to see if the remote is not operating properly because of a bad TV. Press the power button on the TV's unit to make sure that the unit itself is working. Put in a tape, press play on the TV unit; if the tape is playing, there are no problems with the unit. Press the stop button from the remote control. If the TV does not respond, then the remote may be bad.

Step 2
Narrow down the problem using an infrared radiation (IR) detector. The IR may have been switched off, causing interference and range problems between the TV and its remote. Hit the TV's menu button on the unit and search for the IR signal sub-menu. Confer with the remote owner's manual to get the specific codes on resetting the IR signal or simply reset the IR detector back to its factory setting.

Step 3
Clean or replace batteries. Old, corroded or dead batteries can be the cause of the remote malfunctioning. If batteries look corroded, clean off chemical deposits with a soft brush and remove debris with a lint-free cloth. Polish the ends of the batteries (the contacts) with a fiberglass brush or pencil eraser. If batteries appear to be dead, replace with new ones, positioning them in the correct order as identified in the battery compartment.

Step 4
Clean out the battery compartment. Sometimes, it may not be the batteries causing the remote to malfunction, as gunk and dirt can accumulate in the battery compartment and cause the buttons to not respond to pressure. Remove stubborn crud inside the battery panel with a pencil eraser.

Step 5
Disassemble the remote control's front panel with a small Phillips screwdriver. Use a minimal amount of water and mild detergent to wipe away grime and sugar deposits that may have formed around the rubber membrane keypad, circuit board and plastic case (use caution to not directly expose circuit board to liquids). Use a cotton ball to wipe down with isopropyl alcohol. Allow remote's contents to dry thoroughly before replacing components.

Step 6
Correct a worn keypad on remote "if you can see the rubber through the conductive material after cleaning, the pad is likely worn to the point of being non-functional." Disassemble the front cover of the remote, exposing the keys and its worn rubber keypad. Use epoxy to glue the aluminum or silver foil onto the control's rubber surface--make sure that you have cut out enough holes for the keys to fit over the foil before gluing. Replace front cover. Consider investing in a remote control keypad repair kit for seriously damaged rubber keypads.

I suspect the black vertical stripe is most likely a bad panel. The second one most likely is a response to the other one.

If the Plasma Display panel is causing this the cost of this part at the wholesale level is great enough that you are better to replace the set.

A fixed BLACK stripe is almost always a bad panel. These panels are connected in series and the stripe indicates a segment is open or damaged--no image will ever appear there.

This is a good reason for the argument to get as long an extended warranty as possible. If the stripe was some other color than black I would suggest you may have a bad circuit board causing it. When black and wide it is ALMOST ALWAYS A BAD PDP--plasma display panel.

If the problem is a kind of grayish of Purple picture that is distorted and keep rotating on the screen sliding almost vertically, then it is one of the devices , such as DVD or VCR connected in series with the Sky Box, that is giving interference.

If the sky box is not connected to any other device, but the cable goes straight to the TV, and there is no DVD, VCR, receiver or similar device connected to the TV apart the sky box, then check video cable going from box to TV.
Check PAL/NTSC settings on TV. In Europe it must be set to PAL, in US to NTSC. If you have purchased the TV in the same country of use , this should not be the problem.

Test the Sky Box using a different connection cable to TV. If you were using for example HDMI cables, test using AV cables, component cables, or even SCART if available.

If the problem persists, then the TV terminal connecction circuits (the input/output) may have a problem. In that case ring the TV service support number listed on TV owners manual.

Before going for an eventual TV fault, ensure that you have gone through the troubleshooting above, and tested using a different connection and no attached device.

Does this problem when using the VCR or DVD? If so then you know it;s you set.

We didn't fix it.... we decided to buy a newer TV. No assistance needed for that!
