pto not working in my 8340

Hi, has the switch been checked? Fuse? Error code?
I've seen dozens of these and I have only encountered 2 PTO problems. One was an almost new one with a switch problem, the other was the 8240 at work were the PTO brake was not stopping the shaft. The Massey dealer sorted it (NH one took 2 weeks to return the call...), it wasn't a big job and no parts were needed, just an adjustment.

sounds like a timing or point adjustment problem .. Mission Statement

Plugs would probably not be my first check, though fouled plugs or more likely points may be contributing. I would first check fuel and air screens and filters. Be sure you have clean fuel coming through. Here is an excellent resource if you haven't found it already .... Mission Statement
