The device are not talking to each other. Unplug the television from the power, let it sit a minute, unhook the hdmi cable from one device, Plug the power back in to the television, unplug the other device from the power, hook the hdmi back to the connection you unplugged and then connect power on that device. Turn them on and see if it works.

There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. This is the autofocus circuit or known as the convergence circuit. The circuit could be out of adjustment, or simply failed completely. You can check that any autofocus is not working for the menu images, or check that the autofocus is off, and turn it back on. Otherwise you need to change this circuit or try adjusting the screws to see that you can bring it back to focus yourself.

There might be a little button but unless you have the factory remote get a Harmony 650 universal remote. It can handle everything the factory remote can do.

It depends on the TV but for Hitachi I think it is on the DMD board. To keep the settings when unplugged.

The convergence has failed on your TV and will need to be repaired. You can call a shop or do it your self with a convergence repair kit from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com . This is a failry common problem that all projection TV sets will have at some point.

Hi, Johnny here, I looked for some time for the same, here it is- first the cover below the screen for the speakers is a push in snap cover, pop that off, you will see four screws on the left and on the right, take those eight screws out, now lift the screen up then out, an that's it, you're in. be very careful cleaning in there, soft cloth and mild glass cleaner.

Do you get any type of lights when you try to turn it on? If you show a light by the power button you probably have a blown projector lamp. If no lights at all you may have a blown capacitor or a bad power supply. A little more info may be helpful if you have it.

The model listed is only HD ready, it requires a set top box with matching outputs, and will likely have only one hd input.

Have a shop look at it, there is a power relay that either is causing this or something right around it is, seen this about five times over the last ten years in Hitachi sets. I had one customer who had it connected to a wall switch and from time to time had to unpower it several times but once on it was fine.....

Most likely a shop repair on this set as not too many things the average person can test or look for if dead set only the fuses, and the power relays which stick can be looked at.
