If you simply go to hp.com and look up the Officejet 725, and then look for Drivers, you'll see that they only have Windows and Linux drivers. Therefore, unlikely that you will have support for OS X on it - other than maybe printing...

Seriously, I have 6 children. One (or two) of them put a quarter and two flat washers in my slot load CD drive. Took me over an hour to take it apart to fish them out.
I've also had a friend whose young children managed to get 2 cds into the slot load at the same time.
So, my primary suspect is a foreign object has gotten into the drive. I've never had a CD/DVD drive fail on an iMac other than that.
However, if it is a foreign object, you will need to take it in for repair, most likely. It is difficult to see in there. and even more difficult to grab the object.
I suppose that the cable could have become disconnected. I really doubt that the drive was a lemon, seeing that it worked for a year.

try external drive. Go to ifixit.com for instructions on how to replace imac optical drive. You can buy replacement drive off ebay cheaper than ifixit prices for parts.

Anong ibig mong sabihin gusto mo bang installan ng Windows ung Mac computer mo? So far bro hindi pwedieng gawin yan dahil walang drivers. pero kung ang gusto mo is mag windows sa loob ng Mac pwede since program lang un. pero kung Windows ang main OS walang drivers na available kaya hindi pwede.
