check components in your power supply using a multimeter - check diodes, resistors, electrolytic capacitors, transistors - however - ***working inside a TV is dangerous as hogh voltage can KILL you - so please have a qualified tech do this!

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projeciton sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

CONVERGENCE SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you are handy and can follow directions. You can get complete repair kits from TvRepairKits.com or click here. They have put together DIY repair kits that include the OEM parts and step by step photo instructions for each repair. If you are not handy or can't follow directions we would suggest calling a shop.

yout convergence is mostlikly off as the blue tube is usually the first one to and not over power the others, I would thake it into my local tv repair shop and get it fixed abiout 160-200 dollars

this is a long one. You will have to start from the mains end and proceed to eliminate the stage in progression fromthe power to the HT. You need to be familiar with electronics and using a meter proceed to check fromthe fuse to the SMPS,+B and the HT. Hope this helps

Ur DM power supply board have alots of dead capacitors.U have soldering tools and understanding basic electronic's.Take the tv aparts,take out the DM power supply board.These dead capacitors are alway bulges up on it tops or puff up on it tops.Replaced all these dead capacitors,ur tv will get it power up,stable and work again.Or try website like Tvrepairworld.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Pls check that model number........the problem description does not match that of a 1999 crt proj tv.........I believe yours is a newer lcd projection around 4 or 5 yr old?? Lamp light flashing on any brand is indicative of the lamp not lighting . The lamp is the most likely cause,but the ballast board can cause this as well..................you should see an access door refer to owner book of the correct model and you can replace yourself...........it may cost around $200 and avaiolable at encompass parts .com Hitach distributor

I hope you mean to say, that the picture on your TV, put red colour a bit out for the image you look. This happens to all TV in the time of usage. It need servicing. Some tracks on the main board could have been rotten due to heat, CRTsocket muct be serviced, (resoldering the whole board) is needed. Try o check for leaky capacitors, and resistor mostly near the deflection circuit. Well this can be done by qualified service techincian, please do not attemp by yourself if you are not qualified. The manufacturer normally doesn't count the lamp for the warranty, but call them definitely worth checking w/ the manufacturer. Otherwise if you need to buy a lamp you can try Discount-Merchant.com they have FREE trouble shooting available so you can check to make sure it is the lamp.
