Plasma screens have a video board that controls the bottom half of the panel, and another that controls the top half. When these chips, or the chips that integrate them, fail, the result is a line in the middle of the screen. This is definitely a service issue, which would be taken care of under extended warranty if you are lucky enough to have one. If your warranty is long gone, your options would be to pay for service at an authorized repair shop, or if you are extremely handy, obtain a service manual and see if it is possible to acquire the parts you would need for replacement.

This may be too broad to answer because of insufficient explanantion.

Does it BUZZ when not on a channel... an untuned channel or the DVD channel without a DVD playing.

Is it some patrt of the chassis or plastic surround that is vibrating with the volume level.
There are electrical components that will buzz.. (relays ) when they are failing or being overloaded.

So despite being a seemingly simple question, it is more involved than at first glance.

Test some of the things mentioned.. off channel to see if it still buzzes.. put pressure on varios parts of the case to detect loose fitting cover etc.

If you want to risk it open cover and see if you can at least locate the region of the sound on its internal boards. Be carful with this though as it is HIGH Tension Power and is dangerous. Check the simple ones first and then call a service person or someone with electrical knowledge to check the inside.

Usually it is the Y-sus that has the problem. This is one of the boards that sustain the picture on the screen.

For this particular issue, there could also be issues with the y-drives and Z-sus. The way to find out for sure is to take the voltages (Va, Vs, Vcc, etc) on the boards and matching them up with the specified values on the panel.

There are two boards at the bottom of the set connected to the panel. Follow the black line to the boards(it will be inline with one or the other) either that board is bad or the panel itself is bad . The boards do not meet exactly in the middle.

Based on the LED behavior, it appeared that there's a problem with the power supply board. If the TV is out of warranty, the repair would cost for about $250. Usually, a burnt capacitor or bad IC is the cause of the problem.

Plasma TVs are board level replacement. Meaning that if you have only 1 or 2 bad component on the board, you need to replace the whole power supply board in order to make the Plasma TV function better.

I have the same tv and had the same problem. I found a posting that stated to re-solder a connection on the cable for the "y" boards. I used this and my tv is perfect now. The part that needs to be re-soldered is the ribbon cables at the bottom of the tv that go from the boards straight to the screen. On the inside of this ribbon cables there are 4 small components that have "100" on them. On each end of each of these pieces, re-solder them. Since I had my tv completely apart I re-soldered all of them across the bottom. No problems now!

It is a faulty buffer board. the line will be in correspondence of the board connector to display.
You will find the board attached where you get the black line. The part number is written on the board.

Then it is probably not cold solder joints. You wouldn't think that an lcd TV would need a high voltage transformer but it does. They are very small compared to CRT televisions but they power up the screen. Without it you have no backround light to veiw what is there. There are two neon lamps on either side of the screen but they rarley go bad. My guess is the transformer ot the power supply feeding it.

Ur backlight video board is dead.U need a new one.

make sure that the connection you are using is providing audio to the tv. If it is VGA, or DVI, those cables do not carry audio, only video.

It is possible the connector to from the address board to the screen may be need to be cleaned & re-seated, but almost 99% of the time this fault is a problem within the plasma screen & the only solution is for a replacement screen.

Ive had a element lcd tv that i bought, out of nowhere the power cut off, so i went to flip the breakers, and since i had the Tv still plugged up, after i flipped the breaker to get the power back on. Power came back on, went to go turn on the tv, the light would be on but nothing on the screen no picture. Sometimes it would come on a little bit after awhile but that is it. So yes i do recommend you have there tech come out and fix it. Before you ever flip a breaker off and on, unplug all computers, tv's, anything in that nature before you do it.

You have a bad circuit board causing this.
Call a good TV Tech for an estimate. You should call your local BBB before deciding on one.

Unfortunaltely, this is a common on this model. The F-board has several suspect capacitors that go bad. You must know how to test these components to find the right one. It can be done and if you do, be careful not to dammage any traces on the board. (they are very tiny).

realign power supply or replace the logic panel

you have to replace the vertical sweep IC and check the voltage across its VCC. If you cant understand tech words, better visit the service center.
