When switching on my plasma 42pma400a ,the screen lights up for a second and then screen goes off(completely off mode) ,then led goes on orange from green. The real problem is that i dont know where is

Unfortunately it could be any of several boards, plasma sets are harder to repair because they have a lot more boards than a LED or LCD TV, its probability not worth repairing.

Display error no audio also

The problem may be your cable box. If your box is a Motorola , swap it with another possibly from another room in your house. I have run numerous service calls in Dallas / Ft. Worth area only to find the cable box by {MOTOROLA} WAS DEFECTIVE.. Your cable company should also exchange it for free. If the tv does turn out to be the problem, suspect the 24v or 12v from power supply to be low. Probable cause defective capacitors or regulator ic's, or associated zener diodes or open resistors. 7 year old plasma screen 42PMA400A picture

You need to replace your horitzontal buffer boards...they are located on the right side of your tv and there will be two of these. They buffer the signal and cause a problem just like yours.

Best of luck!! thank you!

I have an Hitachi 42

I also have this television, and it baffled me too. Apparently the 42PMA400E isn't so much a television, it's more of just a "display unit". It hasn't got any built-in channels (can't even connect an aerial into it) and hasn't got any speakers either. To use as a television, you need to connect a reciever (I use a DVD player, as I only use it for the Xbox) to it to display the video, and get some surround sound speakers to connect to the DVD player.

Same problem as mark_free256 posted

Hi,

There are two things that can cause this, a buffer board and the plasma panel itself, the bad news is that there is no way to determine what one is causing it without putting the buffer board in the set. If the buffer board fixes the problem then case closed, if it does not fix the problem then the plasma panel itself is bad and the tv will be non repairable because the part will cost over $1300! Yes that is not a typo it is really over $1300.
Now if you have a professional install this for you, you can expect a bill of around $200-$400. Now that repairman is taking a risk because there is no way to know if it is going to fix it because the manufacture made no way to troubleshoot it, therefore he might pass the risk off to you and say something like:

If you want the board replaced and it fixes it then it is going to be $200-$400 (whatever he charges) BUT if I put the board in there and it does not fix then problem then there will be a $150 fee for trying, this is to cover my time and the expense of sending the part back and the restocking fees I will incur.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Excessive fan noise. can it

Hi,

Excessive fan noise means that either the fan bearing is defective, or that dusti inside fan is making noise.

The best thing to do is replacing the fan. In some case hoovering the fan may fix the problem. Hoovering may damage electronic parts and should be done from distance using a low power hoover.
That is one of the reasons why replacing the fan is a better choice.

The fan is held by four screws, and it is not much different by a computer fan. As a disclaimer I must remind that this is a plasma TV, and that is should be repaired only by an authorized Hitachi tecnician.

Here the spare part for this model.

There may be one or two fans (there are variations of same model). There is a fan in the H1 panel, that is usually making the noise. Details and disassembly explained in service manual.

Hitachi tv shuts off . When I turn on the TV iMessage says please wait then turns off two seconds later.

That sounds like it is not booting properly. I would check for correct power supply opperation and if not that, look for a software reloading procedure in the user instruction manual.

Change input on Hitachi LCD TV model LE65K6R9 without remote?

I'd unplug/disconnect the Roku and after 30 seconds try the control button on the back. If you can change the input do so, then plug the Roku back in. Until you use the input button on the back to change input to Roku, you should be able to use the other buttons on the back to control the TV. If this does not work, unplug both the TV and the Roku. Wait maybe a minute, then plug the TV back in and follow the above instructions. Here are other alternatives: Using physical buttons: You can find the physical buttons on the left or right back side of the Hitachi TV. Using these keys, you can change the input, adjust the volume, or turn on Hitachi TV without a remote. Press the Input button located at the back or side of the Hitachi TV. The list of connected sources will appear on the TV screen12. Using external devices: Connect a wireless keyboard or mouse to your Hitachi TV and change the input1. Buy a universal remote: You can buy a universal remote to control your Hitachi TV and change the source.

How to remove small popup bottom left of Hitachi smart tv screen.

A little popup that appears in the lower left corner of your Hitachi smart TV screen may be related to one of the TV's settings or capabilities. You can attempt the following actions to get rid of it: 1.Investigate notifications: Smart TVs occasionally show notifications for different events or upgrades. If there are any notifications, look for them and then clear them by following the on-screen directions. 2.Applications and Inputs: Make sure all programmes and inputs are closed. The popup may occasionally be connected to an input source or app, which can be closed to get rid of it. 3.On-Screen Display (OSD) Off: There might be an OSD option in the settings menu on Hitachi TVs. Try disabling OSD or changing its settings to see if it gets rid of the popup. Verify any software/firmware updates: 4.Make that the most recent firmware or software upgrades are installed on your TV. Pop-up windows may appear as a result of faults in outdated software. Look for a software update option in the TV's settings menu. 5.Firmware Reset: You can conduct a factory reset on your TV if the problem persists after you've tried various troubleshooting measures. The default values for all settings will be restored as a result. Make cautious to back up any crucial data before doing a factory reset because doing so will also remove any customised settings and data. 6.Message Hitachi Support here: If none of the aforementioned fixes the problem, it's a good idea to get in touch with Hitachi customer service or refer to the TV's user manual for detailed instructions on how to get rid of the popup. Regarding External Devices: 7.The popup may be related to any external devices you have connected to your TV, like a cable box or game console. Make sure that these gadgets are operating properly and that the settings have been changed as necessary. Keep in mind that depending on the type and software version of your Hitachi smart TV, the precise processes and options may change. For instructions unique to your TV model, consult the user manual, or go to the Hitachi website for further help options.

Hitachi LE42S704 none of the HDMI ports work, need to update (i think)

Are you getting the various HDMI inputs on the screen but it acts like nothing is connected? We have repaired hundreds of TV's with no HDMI signal over the years and have never had an update correct this issue. There is an IC close to the HDMI input jacks (U501) that decodes the data, that's always been the defective part. You can order the part and change it but you will need advanced soldering skills and the equipment to do it, I'd recommend replacing the main board if you can find one.
