Not enough storage space on my computer

Whatever version of Windows you're using, in the view you're most comfortable with (Explorer, My Computer, Disk Manager, etc) right-click on your local hard drive(s) C: D: etc and select [Properties]. The very first tab, [General] should bring up information showing the space on the drive and a button labelled "Disk Cleanup". Click on that, follow the prompts as needed to select items to remove from your hard drive. You'l probably see that Temp files, temporary internet files and recycle bin files are taking up a lot of space. These are safe to remove. After that's done, in the same "Local Drive" properties window, the "Tools" tab will have a button for [Defragment Now]. Normally, Windows 7 and later defrag in the background but since you've performed a large file deletion a manual defrag is a good idea. If you just need more storage space for files there are more specific options available for your PC. Could be simple as adding an external hard drive or check the Dell support site for upgrading the internal HDD on your computer.

How do I replace the SATA data cables Dell inspiron one 2305 all in one desktop computer

I replaced the SATA data cables on my own Dell Inspiron 2305. You will need to remove the back of the computer. It is held in place by several small screws, not unlike a laptop. Best thing to do is go to the Dell web site and search for disassembly instructions for your model. Once the back is off you can trace the SATA cables from the hard drive and the optical drive to the spot they plug into the mother board. Your new cables will need to be woven into the same places as the old ones, otherwise the cover won't fit back in place. I recommend buying new cables that have the latch feature built into the connectors. They are much move reliable.

Inspiron 2305 power cord doesn't turn the

After connecting the AC adapter to a wall outlet and to the computer press the power button the right side of the inspiron. The button itself should then lite up white if the power adapter is good. If not, check the power outlet you are using. Plug in something else and see if it works on this wall outlet. Some outlets are connected to a wall switch. If its still a nogo you may need to replace the AC adapter.

I WANT TO UPGRADE MY DELL INSPIRON ONE 2305 PROCESSOR

As long as the new one works in the same socket type then just take off the heatsink pull out the old processor, put the new one, put new thermo paste on the new proc and attach the heatsink. You can get the paste at radioshack. Only put a dime sized drop on the cpu.

That is running a little on the hot side, as this is an all in one, i suspect the overheating is casuing the graphics chip / board to shut off. Dismantling by a competent technician and cleaning out the heatsink fan on the CPU and maybe the graphics fan is advised before any real damage is done

How do you install a hard drive

Larry provides great answer up there ^^^ which is better down here. Larry Ng Jun 23, 2022 NO PC told (dell has 10000 models) no OS told, windows what"? no drive told. my wild wild guess is the boot drive is locked. and you are attempting and ******* act. to it. like deleting key parts of a running OS (windows) (like deleted tires on rims of 85mph moving car, fails) no real goal told, but the nebular "install HDD" one can add a 2nd drive easy or any of 1000s of external HDD models or external or internal, SSD or even a thumb drive. (vast) (just 2 steps in fact) but the boot drive , change out is far far far more complex. and you never not told that. you want to mess with the C: drive? now let me guess the real goal (sad I must) the OS drive windows is failing ( common) and some lil' bird told you it needs a new boot drive, and then fail to say so here. okay I will bite. 1: buy a new SSD (hdd fail and are slow) 2: buy a new OS, from MS. or get free w10. (ask how) 3: then put in new SSD, 4: run the w10 installer media (it is free) 5: load w10 to the SSD fresh 6: answer the silly 30 questions it asks. 7: and click activate. (buy it) ..

When trying to use office word starter I get asked for user name and initials every time I log on. After that it goes to the Microsoft Office window and I have to accept the license agreement.

ask at Microsoft.com forum , there? or learn that if PC had this new, it is in fact crippleware. and will nag you until you buy it or do the rent things, 360 jive. best is buy it and set it up like you went. even 2007 runs here on w10. office. the PCs most on earth new, come with free but fully crippleware. as do vast other bloatware loaded on new PC. I erase all that junk and set up my own things paid and licensed.
