Re visit the website you downloaded your software from and see if there's any reference to the code. Otherwise it sounds like you might have to purchase it and the company will then give you the access code.

take off your platter(the round disc your record sits on)and see if your belt is broken

It apparently works with USB and requires no further downloads to get it to work.There IS however a software CD that should've came with it; hopefully your friend gave you that CD too. That CD (according to their video on ION's home site found here, inserting that software disc into the computer is one of the steps to getting the DJ turntable system to work.

I installed Discover Dj to my laptop but my turntables are not working...The left& right buttons are lite up on Sync, Rev,Cue and Play/pause and thats it...when i press the play button nothing happens.In order for me to play I have to play it directly from my laptop

The internal contacts are not touching or are dirty. You would have to open it and clean or re-position the contacts. This happens with aggressive scratching DJ's like you and me.

im sorry but you can scratch with that toy? and its alatency issue due to buying an Ion product nothing Ion makes is never good. my sugguestion get your 100 bucks back save up another 150 and but a numark mixtrack pro you will never have any issues. also theres sites to tell you how to maximize your pc for djing if you want to keep the thing

i would do a uninstall of anything Made by ion and Re install and see if that solves your issue, Ion isnt a very good dj product so something as simples as this could screw something up. try a fresh install and please let me know what happens and ill assist you from there

when you start up the software is there a thing that says forgot your password. or you could uninstall it and re install it. Or take it back and buy a numark controller:-)
