It will only tune into odd numbered stations because US radio station only broadcast in odd number stations (ex 95.5,95.7,96.3). You can change the area. Area 1 is North America, Area 2 is other areas. Press "Menu"->"Setup"->"Tuner"->"Tuner Area", then select 1 or 2. After setting, press and hold "Menu" for at least 2 seconds. This may give you the frequency you are looking for.

it sounds like you have the blue wire (antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire (amplifier remote turn on) turning on an external amplifier in your rover. the antenna remote wire turns off when you leave tuner mode.

Let's do some inexpensive troubleshooting. At the amp switch the rca jacks and see if you still get sound. If you get sound out of the left speaker then the right side output needs to be repaired. But if you get sound out out of the right speaker only then you have a problem with the preout of the stereo and the stereo will need to be repaired. Hope this helps.
Change illumination colour Alpine CDA 9853
1. Go to menu
2. Using touchbar go to 2nd function

Face
Make sure that the face is properly and securely attached. If the face goes blank and the music cuts out you may have a loose pin in the harness. You should pull it apart and test this with a multimeter. A simple solution if this is the problem may be to hardwire that loose pin directly to the opposite connecting end. Good luck
No sound from my 9855 alpine
There is an option in the unit itself to turn off the internal amplifier. If you push the 'menu' button, then go to the setup/settings menu, and then i believe it was under the 'general settings' tab. there's a option called INT IC or something. Make sure that is turned on.

If anybody has that, they will. They have everything for that radio down to the little screws that hold the stuff inside together. If they don't show it as being in stock on their site, then you should call them and they can usually tell you when they expect to get it back in stock.
Blown Speaker Channels
Chips fail, even for the best of us! If the preamp outputs are still fine, you can purchase a small 4 channel from Alpine for 100-150. About the same as a repair yet cleaner power. Check EBAY there's always good deals to be had!
Hope this helps

Yes, I'm sure Alpine will sell you another face but there is still the option of repairing the broken face at a good repair shop. Of course getting a new face is the easiest (read most expensive) way to get you going again.
