That sounds like the main amp is failing. I suspect the unit will have one IC as the power amp, which will need replacing. You can have a look inside to see if you can see something like this: If you do. Make a note of the number on it, it might say something like STK563. Then put your number into Google and it will give you a clue to how much it will cost and if it is obtainable. Hi, I've found the problem. There was a closure in the Sorround Amlifier, and the protect circuit stopped the whole receiver. Br., csdombi

if the receiver is on, you can press the "Eco" Button and then, you have to rotate the "Multi-Joy" in the next 3 seconds to change Eco-Mode to Off. When you selected it, you have to confirm with enter.

I had the same problem, there was a closure by the Q335 transistor in the sorround amplifier. You have to abolish this. Br., csdombi

Assuming the physical volume control on the receiver still works I would say the remote's volume control is faulty.

Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remotes", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.
