Cannot read dvds. Display says incorrect disk

If the dvd player is doing this on all disks then there is something wrong with the laser assembly. Cost to repair for what it is, is prohibitive. If tv has audio video input, connect external player to that for viewing disks OR buy another combo.

I cannot get a picture

Hi,
Most of the TV sets have " Picture Mute" feature which means; if no signal exists on either Antenna plug or on Video input (RCA jack) no picture at all.Blank screen..no audio as well..all MUTED..
to test it ,play a DVD ,you must have pictures and audio together..
Use an antenna ( even a piece of plain cable will work ) ,and run "search" ,you must receive some TV channels thru AIR.
Take care and please Remember to rate/vote for us to

When i turn the tv on it would be on for 5 seconds

This is typical with many sets when it goes old as there is a high possibility that the components over a period of heating and cooling , tend to bring on a problem of dry soldering. So my advice is to check the set for some loose joints that have played on to give you these erratic shut downs.

Remove main plug, the covers - with caution of high voltage, check for dry joints, use a good soldering iron to solder all suspected points. Please find below a link for tips on solderings

Toshiba MD13N3 13" TV/DVD COMBO powers up but will shut off

This is a hard call my friend as it could be a power supply circuit problem or a mechanical problem with the disc mechanism. Most likly the first. Your probably gonna cause more damage to the unit trying to force open the door to get the disc out. SERVICING Do not attempt to service this unit yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. For example: a. When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged. b. If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the unit. c. If the unit has been exposed to rain or water. d. If the unit does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions, as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the unit to its normal operation. e. If the unit has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged. f. When the unit exhibits a distinct change in performance, this indicates a need for service. Call 800-457-7777 Good Luck

Toshiba 13' tv dvd combo, Fios remote control need code

Greetings!

Here are the codes: take a deep breath:

0181, 1283, 0183, 1292, 0087, 0677, 0859, 0872, 1183, 1383, 1683, 1731

You may find that these don't work. Often, with combination pieces like yours, you will find you are lucky if you can get a universal remote to turn it on and change the volume and little more. The fact that Toshiba did not build this peice can compound the problem. My suggestion, if you can't get the universal to program up, is to use the original remote for the set. If you do not have the original remote it is available from www.encompassparts.com for around $15.00 plus shipping. The original part number for the Toshiba remote is 72796929.

Good luck!

Remote control issues

Yes it is a quessing game. If we experts do not have the set in front of us to trouble shoot, but I will explain the process. First off to work on any tv set, your going to need a schematic diagram or should have one, or it will be a crapshoot. Next set up your osilliscope and multimeter. First check the B+ going to the IR sensor. If its at 9 to 15 volts, and is clean without distortion, Im thinking that is ok, but check the manual to see what it is suppose to be. Once the B+ is confermed good. Place the scope probe to the data output on the IR sensor while pressing a remote funtion. If the date is clean looking and is present then the IR sensor is good. If it is not good or noisy, replace the IR sensor. In the event its there, trace the data signal with the assistance of the schematic diagram, to the microprocessor, through all the jumpers and plugs and componets, like coupling capacitors or resistors, as I have found bad solder connections on the route to the microprocessor. If the same data signal is on the input of the microprocessor remote input, that is on the data output on the IR sensor, then replace the micro. This way of troubleshooting, has in the past, fixed every remote problem I have encountered with a remote intermittant, or no remote operation. Good Luck

Toshiba 42RV500E sound issue

This is a known issue with this TV. The following might resolve it: Check Mute and Volume: Ensure that the TV is not muted and that the volume is set appropriately. Sometimes accidental button presses can lead to muted sound or low volume. Inspect External Speakers: If you're using external speakers, verify their connections. Loose cables or faulty speakers can cause sound issues. Test Different Inputs: Connect a non-HDMI device (such as a DVD player) to the TV. Observe if the sound distortion occurs. If it doesn't, the problem might be related to the HDMI signal from your Virgin box. HDMI Troubleshooting: If the issue persists with the DVD player over HDMI, consider the following: HDMI Cable: Check the HDMI cable for damage or loose connections. Virgin Signal: Contact Virgin to inspect the signal/lines and replace the box if necessary. Mainboard Replacement (if needed): If the sound distortion persists, it could be due to a faulty sound processor chip on the TV's mainboard. In this case, consider replacing the mainboard. Change batteries on my toshiba se-r0001 remote

  1. Locate the Battery Cover: Look for the battery cover on the back of the remote control. It is usually a small compartment that can be easily opened.
  2. Remove the Battery Cover: Depending on the design, there may be a latch, screw, or sliding mechanism to secure the battery cover. Use your fingers or a small screwdriver to open the compartment.
  3. Remove Old Batteries: Take out the old batteries from the battery compartment. Pay attention to the orientation of the batteries, so you know how to insert the new ones correctly.
  4. Check Battery Polarity: Take note of the positive (+) and negative (-) signs inside the battery compartment. Make sure to insert the new batteries with the correct polarity to match these markings.
  5. Insert New Batteries: Place the new batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring they are properly aligned with the correct polarity. Press them down gently to make sure they are secure.
  6. Replace Battery Cover: After inserting the new batteries, close the battery compartment cover securely. If it has a latch or screw, make sure it is fastened properly.
  7. Test the Remote: Point the remote at the device it controls (such as a Toshiba TV) and test whether it responds to your commands. If the remote is working correctly, you have successfully replaced the batteries.
  8. Dispose of Old Batteries: If the old batteries are no longer usable, make sure to dispose of them properly. Many communities have designated recycling locations for batteries.

I need a manual for my Toshiba 2010 tv serial # A10A13799C3300

Serial numbers don't work Judy https://www.google.com/search?q=A10A13799C3300 They are purely a numerical identifier of when it was made, year, day, number on the shift, whether it Joe or Billy who did final inspection. With a MODEL number I can find them easily with just 'make model manual'.
