Dyson AM05 Hot Cool Fan Heater - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How do I change heat to cool?
Hi Annette, it's Jack at Dyson.
When you lower your AM05's target temperature (shown on the LED display on the front of the machine) down to 0°, the red light around the on/off switch will turn blue. This shows your machine is now running in fan-only mode, without the heating elements - suitable for use in hot weather. You can then adjust the airflow power and oscillation to suit your needs.
I hope this helps. If you need any further advice, visit www.dyson.com and click 'Support'. Or if you'd like to speak directly with our experts, you can reach the Dyson Helpline on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) 1800 239 766 (AU), or 0800 298 0298 (UK).
Why won't my fan oscillate?
There is a little arm attached to the motor that makes the fas oscillate. If it gets disconnected you will have that issue. Check the linkage.
My am05 shut off with a E 5 Display
Hi William, it's Jack at Dyson.
If your Dyson AM05 Hot + Cool heater displays an E5 error code, you should be able to reset this without difficulty. Just turn off the machine using either the remote or the control on the base, then unplug it for at least 30 seconds. Once you've done this, plug it back in and re-test. The issue should be resolved.
I you continue to see the E5 error code after trying this please get in touch directly so we can provide further assistance. If we're not able to resolve the issue over the phone with some simple troubleshooting checks, we should be able to help under your 2-year Dyson warranty.

How do you remove the base from the dyson am05
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
AM05's base is secured in place by a catch - you should see this if you look at the underside of the machine. You can open the catch at the same time as rotating the base to remove it.

C1 error code on dyson pure hot+cool
The C1 error code on the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool indicates a communication issue between the control board and the motor. Here are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:
- Turn off and unplug the machine for at least 10 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This can sometimes reset the control board and resolve the issue.
- Check the filter and make sure it is clean. A dirty filter can cause the machine to overheat, which can trigger the C1 error code.
- Check the air intake and make sure it is not blocked. If the air intake is blocked, the machine may not be able to cool properly, which can cause the C1 error code.
- If none of the above steps resolve the issue, the problem may be with the control board or motor. In this case, it is recommended to contact Dyson's customer support for further assistance. They may be able to help you diagnose and resolve the issue, or recommend repair options if necessary.

Dyson Am04 model no longer turns on due to a power surge. What part is required to fix it? TIA.
First thing is to check the wall socket. Use a desk lamp or something similar and plug it into the socket you use for the heater. If the lamp works so does the socket. Next check the fuse. UK machine have a fuse in the plug, other countries use different systems.
If all these check out OK the surge may have damaged a circuit board inside the heater. Only a Dyson specialist could help you with that.

Turn the power off and unplug the machine for 60 seconds. Plug the machine back in and turn power on. Repeat this process up to 3 times until the F4 error code has cleared.
