in settings, try to put the "sleep" timer to 2 minutes, and see if it actually locks (or sleeps:turn off the screen)... also with mine sometimes the "capture screeen" feature works (more donts than do's!) perhaps very poor quality from the buttons. clean all the apps running, and start with a full fresh boot (turn off by holding the power button 10 secs or more, then conecting to the charging usb, press again the power button), the volume also can be set via software, again in settings.

Probably defective tablet. Here is some good advice, return it or throw it away and spend the $200 on a google nexus 7. Insignia is one of the worst electronics manufacturers in existence. No joke.

FAT 32 is more universal for transfers.

If it is not down to a dead battery, (many batteries show that they charge full but they cannot hold that charge so they no longer switch on,) I would search on line for a method to hard reset the device. Remember that if you do go down that road you may lose any data stored on your device. Try the battery first. GOOD LUCK CARLOS

Make sure you are using the charger that came with the unit. Wiggle the cable in the USB port on the tablet to make sure you have a connection and that it isn't a faulty USB cable or that the USB port is failing. Try using a different charger that will deliver 5 Volts at 2 Amps...no less. If none of these solutions work, return the unit to the GeekSquad Bench and have them look at it.

Basic reset or complete "back to original out of box"? Basic resets are by either inserting a straightened paper clip into the reset hole on the side of the unit, or by pressing the volume up or volume down button AND the power button. Back to out fo box is going into settings - backup & reset, and choosing factory data reset. This will wipe out your account, data, apps, everything...just like you took it out of the box the day you got it.

There are two options for resetting the Insignia FLEX: 1) Insert a straightened paperclip into the reset hole on the side of the unit. 2) Hold down the volume up or down key while pressing the POWER button.

This unit does not have a screen calibration app. Recomend returning the unit to exchange for another.
