Juki DDL-8700 Industrial Straight Stitch Sewing Machine, Servo Motor - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Why isn't my bobbin threading?
Georgia, Generally it is one of two problems:
1. there is a thread stuck in the spindle where the metal disk attaches to the machine. If this is the problem, put a couple drops of oil on the spot and pull the thread loose. While you are there, you should be able to see a tiny hole at the top of the metal where the spindle runs between the disk and the bobbin. Put a couple drops of oil in that also.
2. Somehow the whole bobbin mechanism has slid forward and is not coming in contact with your belt when you engage your bobbin winder. To fix that, unscrew the two screws that attach the WHOLE METAL MECHANISM to the table. Shove the mechanism back towards the back of the machine, SLIGHTLY, and retighten the screws. After this, you might want to check to make sure that the tension on your bobbin isn't too tight. You only need minimal tension on it to wind a good bobbin.
Good Luck.
Needle breaking
The most common problems that cause broken needles is a thread tension that is too tight and the machine needle/hook being out of time.

How do I stop my Juki DDL-8700 machine from skipping stitches?
set up on quilting table? wheres the oil pan?? if your machine sews fine straight and skips on curves i think you are lifting the presser ft as you make the turn. theres nothing wrong with the machine. you could always change the needle which is always the first thing when you encounter a sewing problem.

Knee lift won't engage on my Juki. Ddl-8700industrial straight stitch
tilt machine back and look at the lifter bar. try moving it now without any pressure on it. move ok then problem too much presser ft tension of the lifter plate on the vertical bar under the machine is bent or not high enough or not align with the botton of the part the machine thta connects to the presser ft. the lifter bar connected to the knee lifter can be bent to line up with the bar on the machine. go to the other side of the machine and look in thru the oil pan to see how they match up.
I have a Juki8700 it does not seem to be feeding the fabric thru on the feed dog
ck presser foot tension. even with sightest presser ft tension goods should feed. next ck that your feeder plate is not loose or broken. take off the plate and see if u can move the feeders with your finger. tighten screws makinf sure the needle is centered inthe feeder plate hole. if this is not the problen then youe=r feeder plate teeth are too low or worn out. look up how to raise the feeders. the should be 1/8" above plate.
My juki 8700 h frays thread while trying to sew
Hello Daniel, I suggest you start with a new needle. Back off the needle thread tension and the bobbin thread tension to a minimum and see how it sews. If it does not ravel the thread, you can increase the tensions until you acquire the stitch you want.
