For starters, you can just allow the device to die, but this is a long process. Also if you're using the device running windows, you can go to the start menu and hit power off. If none of these are available, pull the back off the device, and remove the battery.

The electronics have gone south and are shutting down to protect whatever is left of unit. These units have gotten so reasonable in price that repairs nowadays are usually not cost effective.

For the keyboard to work, the tablet has to be docked on the keyboard (you will hear a clear clicking sound when you dock the tablet properly). If the keyboard doesn't work when it is docked, it should be brought in for a repair.

I don't have one of those but suggest you actually remove the battery completely. Then reinstall it after a few minutes to hpefully reset it.
